I've finally gotten motivated and got stuck into getting this on the road. I sold my Valiant for a decent sum. So that money is going straight into the SVO.
I finally fitted the trailing arms and Watts link pictured above.
Also it was at the exhaust joint today. Got Pacemakers fitted, 100 cell cat and a 3.5" dump tip.
I have it booked in with the paintless dent removal guy next Thursday. Get rid of all the parking dents and dents in the boot lid.
Then all that's left to do is replace the rear calipers with already rebuilt units i have in the shed, replace lower ball joints, replace windscreen and get a spot of rust fixed above the windscreen. Then that's it. ready for roady and rego.

lol it's taken me over 2 years to get it registered. so it'll probably be N/A for ages. i'll be doing the other driveline stuff first. shorter diff gears, decide what i'm doing gearbox wise. And like i thought once it is eventually turbo i can sell the complete exhaust

Got the rear calipers changed over after work yesterday. now the handbrake works :D and another thing crossed off the list

But when it come to bleeding the brakes. the front bleed nipples were blocked solid and ran out of time to be able to clean them out at work. I'll get onto that soon.

so last week i fitted 2 new 225/50R16 Supercats to her. So now all 4 are good. Fitted the rebuilt rear calipers as above and unblocked the front bleed screws. she actually pulls up now.

All that's left:
Lower ball joints
Rust above front screen fixed
New windscreen

got my arse into gear, again, to try get this on the road before C4C. Replaced the injectors with standard units (had AU ones in it) as they were leaking. Got it up on stands, and pulled the front stubs out to replace all ball joints. Plus now also the front calipers have seized up (probably from sitting for so long) so i'll get them rebuilt.

Would take less time to pop the pistons out and put a new seal in, than it would to drop them off somewhere, not to mention cheaper lol. If you gave zero fucks then they wouldn't be getting done.. gotta learn somehow!

won't pass a roady with no front brakes. i reckon they'll need a hone. They aren't working at all.

That's what the emery tape is for! You can buy rebuild kits with new pistons as well, but most of the time giving them a clean up will do it as they don't have a massive range of travel. Easy job!

Yeah but that rebuild wouldn't have been with new pistons. The bores will not need a hone, just sand them smooth. I used to rebuild underground landcruiser brakes and they rarely needed new pistons and they are 4 piston calipers driving around in water all day everyday. Best bet is to pull them apart, post some photos of the caliper and the piston if you need guidance on their serviceability and go from there.

Also fitted up the "rebuilt" stubs and refitted the rotors Thursday night. Gunna pull the front calipers off tomorrow night for rebuilding this week.
May have to get in there with a pressure washer and clean the struts etc

front calipers are off ready to be rebuilt. bought this too (minus the bell mouth). T70. T4 flange. .8 front. .81 rear. Just a chinese one though. Also have all the adaptors for oil lines etc. and the fitting to be welded onto the sump. May get a spare sump to do that too.

Ebay has caliper kits pretty cheap if you can stand to wait a few days for postage. Them and a sheet of 1200grit sandpaper is all you need.

Look at your car. Now back to mine. Now back to yours. Now back to mine. Sadly, yours isn't mine. But if you stopped buying dodgy cars and bought an ED, yours could be like mine. Look down. Back up. Where are you? ...You're on BoostedFalcon, reading the signature your signature could be like! Anything is possible when your car looks like my car... I'm on a computer.

too late. They were dropped off today to be rebuilt. Found out why the front brakes were so shit. The RHF caliper must have had scale build up and when i've retracted the pistons to do pads the RHF one has jammed. So it wasn't working at all. Now it might actually stop lol.
