Mate nice car! Always loved the force's, probably why I got a force 8 myself haha. Why the switch to manual if I may ask?

Sounds mean on the throttle!

I'll just take my 300rwkw and GTFO.

Would go good with a GTX core.

Still reckon yellow EA Falcons are cool.

Had a good day at Casterton street drags.

Quickest run was 7.93 in the dyo. I braked on this one as I was in front of te other car

The second quickest was 7.94 with a heavy brake hence the 87mph trap speed

Noob mistakes.....

I swapped the forged bottom end over for a very low km fg bottom end because the forged pistons were too loud for my liking especially a street car.

It was supposed to be a simple exercise lol.

First mistake:

Mixed up the cam cages in the head. These are tunnel bored so they have to go back in the correct spot . I fucked that up. Result was cams grabbed in the head and broke the chain. Bent inlet valves on number 1. Another new gasket and 14 more head bolts later...

No worries use the fg head with fg cams and my strong springs.

Mistake 2 put it back together , car won't start. Turs out the pins in the cams both sheared off, and due to not removing te phasers I didn't know. Lucky exhaust cam only retarded itself 50 degrees and it didn't kiss valves. Intake cam didn't move despite having a Sheared pin

Mistake 3 converted to manual, went to return car to stock tune as a different tuner was going to tune it. It failed 5 times, so we flashed a manual program into the PCM anyway. That rendered the flash tuner useless... No trans in car ment it couldn't return to stock. New flash tuner required

Among other things, tailshaft supplied for manual conversion was for a non turbo diff,

So all up it was pretty ambitious to tackle a block change, manual conversion and dropping the IRS to go diff bushes but its in the home straight now

ive seen the cages pull down uneven on the dowels and seize the cams after a 20 minute road test on a g6e turbo around a week after FG's came out haha, long story short, new head needed cos of the way the cages fit to the head...

sounds like when i touch cars out side work, everything turns to shit :S

I was lucky that the head wasn't badly damaged and was able to be repaired.

Fitted. A set of stock injectors and drove it to the tuner, then swapped the 80's and did a few runs with 98 in.

Had the car tuned here and it's got a "girl tune" (that's what it's named as on the flash tuner lol) 345 kw on 98 15 psi, 373 on 17 psi and 413 on 17psi on e85.

It's bullshit to drive on the street. E85 tune it hits boost in 1st and 2nd and just breaks traction and baked the tires before you can grab the next gear, 3rd gets a little bit of traction before it skids again. Ill admit it scared me a bit. Got a day to spend on it to put interior back together and detail, it's off for a wheel alignment on Friday and then autofest this weekend :-)

That's about as far from bullshit to drive as I can think of :P Nothing like baking tyres through half the gears on a boosted 6. All too familiar feeling for me :drinks2:

Well all wasn't lost, it pulled 422 kw off the bat this morning on the dyno, it might be enough to win outright power trophy. Previously made 405 on this dyno so that equates to about 447 sa kw haha
