I managed 545kms to 59.5L of gas the other week :D 10.9L/100kms, not bad!

Also, I went bushbashing the other night, trying to find a "highway" about 20kms from my place. I found it in the end, but I have no idea how it got called a "highway".

Image

I hit this sandy crest doing about 60 & almost beached the car, luckily the sand was soft & didn't take my front bar off. Then again, the soft sand is the reason I bottomed out in the first place. I just made it over the top doing about 20kph, in The Little Wagon That Could

Image

^^^ yes, that's a highway.

Yeah it's southwest of Stradbroke & northwest of Woodside in the guts of crown land. Plenty of motorbike tracks through there!

But getting back to wagons, a wagon-specific meet/cruise/photoshoot would be awesome. Petey, chop chop!

If you are using blocks you should use the standard shocks.

If you have the leaves reset, then you need short shocks.

* Have camped in it several times (solo, and with company - not Kester yet), and it's a good "escape" to go to at a house party where you know you'll get no rest indoors.
* Have moved house using it, and its ass can swallow a couch. Just like Paris Hilton!
* Nearly got air crossing a raised culvert at 120.

if you want a open one I should be able to tee something up with some decent numbers.

a wagon is a wagon! i signed up to streetwagons.com, the wagon forum for hotted up commodore wagons. i started a thread about my car and after 3 weeks, ive had NO replies. yet a p-plater who buys a POS VS berlina gets 8475602630475034 in 7 seconds. as long as theres at least one other ford man there, im happy :)

Ive heard of this as well and are looking at shorter ones now but what is the difference between the two is the shorter stiffer or something?

When you use blocks you raise the diff housing up higher, closer to the car, than the leaf springs and shock mounting platform. This means the shock length is the same as std. If you have the leaves reset lower, the shock platform is also closer to the car, meaning the distance between the shock mounts on the body and the diff is shorter, hence the need for shorter stroke shocks, which would prevent the shock from bottoming out.

As I use blocks in my EB, I will be getting STD lenght heavy duty shocks.

As yours is an AU, and as I understand it you can't use blocks, and therefore should have had the leaves reset, you should look at getting some heavy duty Short Stroke shocks.

Hope that makes sense.

Cheers
