Very annoying things...

Postby spope » October 25th, 2007, 1:50 pm

Ok, I am in the process of getting my new car roadworthied and registered.
Bought it into work today to get a new windscreen fitted.
That was done about 11:30 this morning.
So, at lunch time I was changing the wiper blades, cause they needed doing too.
What do you know, one of the arms slipped out of my hands and put a nice big crack in the brand new windscreen.
Have to bring it back on Monday to get another screen fitted.
Very annoying.

So, what things have pissed you off recently?

Quite, right too. That's disgraceful.
:P :D :P

One other thing that really annoyed me, I spent my entire lunch break yesterday on the phone to Vicroads. Surely those bastards make enough money off us, they can't afford to hire a couple more people? Damn goverment, taking my money, not providing services, etc, etc... Those nurses know what's what, don't give up, we support you, and so on.

I got annoyed when it was drizzling today, and I was doing rollbacks in the forklift, and it was smoking it up, then I thought it would be so much cooler if it had a spool.
I also got covered in water when I was dragging a hose and it splashed on me, that was annoying, cause it got in my pocket and shit.

I just changed the thermostat in the EA yesterday to the one out of the ED wreck. The one in it before was causing the temp to go right to the red line and then opening after you gave it a rev. The one from the ED didn't heat up past the bottom of the blue!! So I bought a newbie today and have now cracked the thermostat housing on one corner and it seems to be pissing out water.

Oh well. I have 2 spares but pulling the bra is kunt to pull off.

Forklift roll backs are awesome! We used to have this ancient thing with a 202 blue motor, hooked up a 2 speed manual (fwd & reverse) that thing was the biggest smoke machine - ended up with melted patches of concrete every time I was left by myself as a kid!

Back at uni I had a "supervising lecturer" for a final year project I was working on. The problem with this was, my lecturer didn't really offer any input into my project, in fact all he'd seem to do would be to get in the damn way. We'd have a weekly "progress meeting" where I'd go in & would tell him how I've been progressing with my work, and then he'd try and get me to do off-topic tasks or to cut out vital parts, or to reword something that's short & concise into something looooooong and vague that would confuse the reader.

Here's a typical transcript of a progress meeting (note, "Owen" was a classmate also doing a project, "Bickerton" was another classmate who he didn't like for some reason -plus only Mustafa referred to this guy as "Bickerton", and he spoke with a Kermit The Frog voice overlaid with an arabic accent):

<Dave> (walks into office)
<Mustafa> Have a seat, how are you? Is it hot in here?
<Dave> I'm fine thanks
<Mustafa> Are you sure?
<Dave> Yes
<Mustafa> Are you certain?
<Dave> I am sure and certain that I am not hot
<Mustafa> (directs his attention towards the desk fan that's blowing on me) Is the fan hurting you?
<Dave> Is it what?
<Mustafa> The fan. It is hurting you.
<Dave> Umm, as far as I'm aware it isn't hurting me?
<Mustafa> Do you want me to do something about the fan?
<Dave> ("here we go… a 20 minute progress meeting will turn into an hour-long farce") No Mustafa, the fan is fine where it is
<Mustafa> You sound like you're just being polite about the fan. I will redirect it for you
<Mustafa> (adjusts fan, my project papers blow everywhere)
<Mustafa> Oh my, look at what the fan has done!
<Dave> It's fine Mustafa, I can pick them up
<Mustafa> You haven't lost anything have you?
<Dave> Nothing disappeared Mustafa, at worst I'll have a couple of sheets out of order which will be pretty quick to fix up
<Mustafa> Are you certain you have not lost any papers? Because the fan did blow them away
<Dave> Your office door is shut. The fan blew the papers off my lap and onto the floor next to my feet. I can see all the papers on the floor next to my feet, I think it's fairly safe to say that none of my papers have disappeared.
<Mustafa> OK, I will redirect the fan
<Dave> Whatever
<Dave> (sits back up, fan is blowing on me again)
<Mustafa> Oh I see I have redirected it onto you again. Are you *certain* the fan is not hurting you?
<Dave> It's FINE Mustafa. Can we talk about my project please? I'm afraid I'm busy this arvo & have other work to do (I indicate to my open bag, with Chemistry, VicRoads and Traffic Engineering work on display)
<Mustafa> Other work? What can be more important than your project?
<Dave> (points to bag)
<Mustafa> So tell me David, how is Owen? I must tell you I am not happy with his progress, for some reason he keeps avoiding me.
<Dave> (thinks to self, Owen if only I was as smart as you) I haven't seen Owen lately. Now, about my project
*** by this time, the sun has set a little and is now shining through the window ***
<Mustafa> Oh look at the sun, shining through the window like that! Can you see David?
<Dave> Yes, I can see Mustafa
<Mustafa> No, you are not understanding me. Can you see your papers?
<Dave> Yes, I can see my papers Mustafa
<Mustafa> (sounds like HE is the one trying to deal with a retard) No David you are still not understanding me. Can you read your papers fine despite the sunlight pouring through the window. CLEAR?
<Dave> Mustafa I can read the papers still, the sunlight isn't bothering me! CLEAR.
<Mustafa> I will get up and close the curtains. Are you OK with this?
<Dave> I'd rather we just begin discussing my project
<Mustafa> Yes, I will get up and close the curtains. That will make us both happy. I want you to be happy, because you are like a son to me. I treat all my students like my children, except... Bickerton.
<Dave> (FFS…)
<Mustafa> (closes curtains)
<Mustafa> (back at desk) Oh I see it is a little dark in here now. Do you want the office light on? I will switch it on for you.
<Mustafa> (gets up, eventually finds light switch) Where is Owen?

I really could go on forever with this, but I think you get the point. Every meeting with him was a nightmare where you got about two words in and he spent the rest of the time bumbling.

haha that sounds annoying.

The most annoying thing that I can recall is my damn torana project that never got finished.

I had 2 toranas. 1 4 door LJ which had the RB30 in it and was running good. The other was a 2 door LC which was fcked and needed lots of bodywork.

I had the LJ first. I wanted to put big brakes on it so I did. A nice new hoppers stoppers kit, it was good.

Then I bought the LC. I took the LJ suspension, steering rack, control arms, new brakes etc and put them on the LC. Lots of hours of work involved. Eventually the LC was rolling, steering and stopping nicely.

I go to fit the RB30 into the LC and it turns out the K frames were slightly different so I had to swap the K frames over and then swap the steering rack, suspension, control arms, brakes all back to the old K frame.

The K frames were a 6 bolt job and easy to remove and swap as 1 piece. Much hours wasted.

I have done this a few times in the past. It nearlly makes me want to break stuff.

Early morning shower : barely have my eyes open. Pick up shaving cream and spray under arm, or pickup deoderant and spray on hand.

Spraying shaving cream on my arm pit is the worst feeling. Especially if i have just had a shower. (get back into shower and wash arm)
Once with a massive hangover, i once managed to stop myself as I was about to put shaving gel on my toothbrush. I laughed at how silly it was then felt seedy as I realised i nearlly cleaned my teeth with that shit.

A mate of mine passed out in the shower once. He ended up lying on top of the plughole AND decided to poop while lying in a fetal position. Messy!

I hate it when I've had a skinful of cask wine & bbq meat the night before, I'm feeling a bit seedy, I get into the shower and drop my guts while it's all steamy (the shower, not gut droppage - usually). Showers seem to amplify arse rankness towards permanent brain damage levels. This can have unexpected entertainment though if your girlfriend is in the shower at the same time.

its funny because it is actually true. there is a scientific reason for it. something along the lines of the water excites some part of ya fart which makes it smell worse. i saw it on one of those kids science shows on tv.

Homad I heart you

Hmm, other shower annoyances... I'll move on to ballsauce:

1. Water luffs separating liquid from solid. God help you if you get a tiny portion in your leg hair.

2. Discovering strands of your gf's long hair in the plughole... With your DNA clinging to it for dear life

My very annoying thing at the moment is my back. I buggered it on wednesday at some stage, woke up thursday and could hardy move. Still went to work and I've been struggling so bad, every hour felt like 3. Having a rooted back is Not Cool.

Oh I HATE that! But I never get around to laying a splashpad, coz I don't like the idea of it blocking up!

I find it annoying that **** can't drive.

Some cheese dick backed into my drivers door. Someone happened to stick a note under my wiper saying

ECL 315
| hit
\/
<MY PLATE>

(they actually drew an arrow with "hit" next to it)

anyway

reported to the cops and some **** getting a visit tonight. This is the 4th time my cars been raped and pillaged.
First being clipped while angle parked
Second having the rear drivers side door backed into
Third having some **** jump on it
Fourth this new dint in my drivers door.

Oh did i mention all 4 were while it was parked? FUckers

My housemate is a shtknt.

A couple of months ago when I was putting the motor in my car and had no energy, he always wanted to go out clubbing n shit.

So I'd do a massive day on the car, then be out clubbing till like 3 or 4, until I managed to drag him home.

Now, I've finished the car, and for some reason the fker now never has any energy, and never wants to go out.

At the same time as this, he had a steady GF of over a year, and was also ploughing this other chick on the side (which he started ploughing AFTER I told him I liked her). He kept tight tabs on his GF though, and never let her hang out with anyone in case she cheated on him.

She finally cracked the shits with him and dumped him, so we had these big plans to go out tonight and party hard. We went out, there was HEAPS of hotness all over the place, we met up with the chick-on-the-side about 30 mins after parking the car, he got one drink, then they decided they wanted to go home.

That was like 5 fuggen hours ago, I'm still full of caffine and can't sleep (note post time....) AND I have no chance of meeting a girl because I never actually GET OUT OF THE GODDAMN HOUSE and into THE REAL WORLD where there are REAL GIRLS.

I'm that desperate for something to do to stop myself from killing him that I actually joined facebook FFS, and I reckon that site is for people with no lives. I suppose that's why I joined.

No money, no girlfriend, no working FUGGEN CLUTCH SHTKNTSFKDAMMITKENTS and I can't sleep, but I know I'll be tired as FCUCK tomorrow. Well, when I finally go to bed then wake up. I can hear bloody birds singing and the SUN is coming up.

This blows big time.

Look at your car. Now back to mine. Now back to yours. Now back to mine. Sadly, yours isn't mine. But if you stopped buying dodgy cars and bought an ED, yours could be like mine. Look down. Back up. Where are you? ...You're on BoostedFalcon, reading the signature your signature could be like! Anything is possible when your car looks like my car... I'm on a computer.

That's a fair rant Rollin. I know what it's like when friends (I use the term loosely now) let you down all the time. Shit mates FTL.

And Facebook? Ugh don't get me started. Myspace for non-emos.
