What did you do? Flick the key back and roll to the side of the road? I'm guessing the gauge dropped and then the light came on?

What motor has it got lol? A Boss 260/290? :P

Yup, flicked the key off straight away, rolled till it came to a stop. Called Mr.CVE and asked for his advice, listened to it, got the car towed home, taking it to the workshop tomorrow for a fix hopefuly.

Nah no Boss motor for me.

Might have to get some lose change lying around and buy a BF turbo.....it's easier isn't it?.. :D

Just got back from dropping the car off at the shop. Luck I have RACV total care free tows anywhere, anytime and option of a hire car. I would of had Mr.CVE look at it for me but after seeing his garage last night it's probably the last thing he needs with all those cars in there.
I'm hoping it's not going to cost an arm and a leg, I'm starting to run out of them :(

Thats what they do when it gets to hard for them. Its easier but you join the 500,000 of them and your car get lost in the crowd. Hope its an easy fix Timmy.

No becasue there is just so many BA's out there once you seen one you seen em all.

Compared to the standard shiz box e-series out there cars like timmy's turns heads at meets and cruises. BA's dont......

I myself personally just look at the BA at a cruise and think to myself oh yeah nice aftermarket 20's and walk off. However Timmy's car people would stop and actually look and the bodywork and the shiny new paint job and admire it the time and effort.

Thats my rant.

i was thinking aux shaft too...

e series are ok, but b series are waay better. Sure a modified eseries might turn a few more heads, but a ba would be better to drive/more reliable/easier to get power out of etc.

if you don't want it to be 'just another BA'
then you have to put some time/effort into it :P

but.. this is about Timmy's car, so BA's conversation is offtopic :P

*UPDATE*

There is no good news I'm afraid. It was the aux shaft, all the teeth on the gear were just about all stripped off which in turn fvkd the other gears causing some damage.

Put another aux shaft in to see what that go is and it made oil pressure but was making a hell of a noise becasue it fooked the other gears. So oil pump is fine but sounds like all the gears that run off it are in heaven....I mean hell.

Engine is coming out, timing cover off and further inspection to make sure nothing else has been damaged.

Leaning towards Sunny's and Steady's pov that E series are bin. :(

yeah au motors with dizzy's seem to do this farely regularly discnt had 2 or 3 in a row do it.
is it that they make the shaft thinner or weaker as they only has the sensor to turn not a dizzy?

the shaft only ever turned the oil pump.
dizzy never had any load, the only ever load will be the oil pump, I have seen this happen when you run HV oil pumps and or thicker oil.
But it may be more something got sucked up the oil pump and locked it up and has rattled out, I have seen this many times.

Yeah who knows. I'll get a picture of the shaft when I get the car back home so you can see it. Sounds like it did a decent job of sheering the teeth off it though. Lucky the car has a oil pressure gauge on it or I wouldn't have known wtf was going on!!!

Maybe AU motor + E-Series aux gear is the way to go?

My engine is running off a coil pack.
It still has a shaft that goes into the motor where the dizzy would normally sit, but it just has a plate with a sensor on the end of it.
I never heard of this being a problem until it happened to my car but apparently it is pretty common.
