Postby Grechie » August 22nd, 2007, 9:13 pm

Aii guys

start rant

for **** sake, this "new improved bp" shit thats come out lately has given me nothin but fkn pinging, ive wasted about 150 buks worth of bp ult juice at different servo's n cars still pinging @ high rpm, cant be a bad batch , unless mulitple servos were supplied with this dud shit

Any one else have any problems with ultimate lately?

Interesting, so if you use Shell V-Power or another premium unleaded it goes away?

Never had a problem with ultimate, but Shell had some shit fuel in my area for ages a while back, so i never go there.
I stick with ultimate all the time, unless i can't, cause there's no BP around.

I've been using ultimate for a while until a few weeks ago the car started pinging like crazy over 3000rpm, i ran another couple of tanks of ultimate and it didn't go away so i went to v-power and the problem is gone.

Ive started using the Caltex Vortex 98 and seam to be getting better Ks than both the Shell and BP and the engine seams to like rev a bit harder but who know wtf this kents add to the fules in their holding tanks. Any onw tried the shell V power racing got friggen awsome milage of that shiz.

I pretty much always use V-power. None of the other premiums feel as sharp.

The ethanol based fuels seem to put the fire out a bit I reckon. I haven't tried V-power racing though.

Yeah it may be abit different N/A to Forced though. the bad thing about the V power racing i think they have fixed price of 154.9 per/l on it so the price doesnt fluctuate with the standard fuel rate and they are the only won running the 100 octane down here i think.

Don't know if anyone watched it...but there was a current affair thing awhile back with some BP petrol stations (Queensland i think) using 95 in the Ulti tanks. The stations that got caught were forced to stop selling BP Ultimate and an investigation is pending...

I only ever run BP ultimate, except when work pays then its mobil 8000, and have never had a problem.
i have been told to stay away from shell fuels because of inconsistent octanes.
guess it depends who you talk to!

Yeah im pretty sure I saw that. Was that with the story about servo's heating the fuel so you get less??? Because when you heat it, it expands and then once it cools in your tank it shrinks again??? So you end up paying more for less or something alone those lines anyways :?

That was another one, there had been a heap of servo's mostly own by 2 or 3 different people that had been using 95 and even 91 in there tanks and selling it as BP Ultimate. It was only due to a ex employee that toll the authority's before they got caught. They also randomly tested the major chains in each state which all turned out ok.

As a consumer i just assume i'm paying for 98 why would i think otherwise...have heard a lot of people complaining after BP ultimate at recent!!

Yep I have noticed a bit of difference with Bp up here to no ping but like mentioned before not as sharp. When optimax first came out it was a great fuel then I had pinging problems.Caltex was a fix then Bp but lately I have been using V power and having another 50kays out of a tank and more punch.I thought paying 130-140 was dear you guys are getting the rough end of the stick.
