make sure you go to a mechanic who has a good rep for the conversions and is using a good system. Then again sometimes you can just be unlucky.
My Dad and me got our cars done at the same place and no issues, referred Commando to the same place and has had heaps of issues with his... so it's worth asking around.

Don't get a cheap setup just for the sake of getting it converted cheap.

Depends if you want to get performance too or just want a cruiser?

Also make sure you fill out all the paper work when getting it converted make sure you have rego papers etc

If your going second hand try and find a factory EF gas system.

I dont see how if you have a reciept for just say $1000 and you show them that they will give you $2k?

If anyone's wanting second hand gear for a cheap install I have a EF and EL converter and mixer. It's a complex converter and a simple mixer, was being used in a EF GLi wagon that went pretty well.

I'll part with it for $150.

Also, I put my ED GLi on gas last Wednesday. I put the rebate through same day so I should (all going well) get the rebate by next Wednesday. I got a copy of the registration sticker paper printed on a VicRoads letterhead, which the VicRoads chicks said would be fine. Went in to Medicare to submit the paperwork and the lady there said that sometimes they can knock it back if they want to be picky - in which case I will get a letter in the mail :( Hope that doesn't happen.

Im looking at getting a car that's had an LPG system installed and complied early last year (probably done through rebate) but tank, lines & converter has been pulled out.

If i take the complience off get someone to re-fit it and complience it should i be able to claim the rebate?

Did you get the rebate?

Im trying to work out if the car has been complied as Dual Fuel already but it basicly has no gas system on it if i get in converted again can i still claim the rebate?

EDIT - After some researching i've realised that the car will be classified as "Dual Fuel" with Vicroads so does anyone know if i can get Vicroads to class it as petrol only and then get the car converted back again?

According to the rebate guidelines it can only be done to a registered Petrol or Deisel vehicle.
