Hard Rubbish Collection

Postby mike1989 » July 26th, 2008, 6:00 am

Was driving my mate around the other day and came across and old cabinet/record/tape/radio player in decent nick that I just had to grab. With a little TLC it works good as new, resulting in long nights of listening to Rory Gallagher and Deep Purple etc :P

Anyone else came across something like this in a hard rubbish collection?

(Will post pics when I cbf)

There ia always some tresure found, although it is very illegal. In saying that there are people that drive the streets with utes and trailers to fill up.

I got a great chest of draws that I use for all my car magazines. It was fun driving down the road with half of it in the boot, tied up to the boot struts, the rest just hanging out! My next door neighbour got a pool table (in good nick, the owner was throwing it out because it never got used). I don't know why it's illegal. The people are still getting rid of their stuff, and if someone else has a use for it, great! Recycling is always promoted and what better way of recycling is this!

My old man works for the local council, opening all the rubbish tips in the area, the shit he scores is unbelieveable

Old fuel tins, car memorabilia, chairs, carbys, car magazines and manuals, an engine stand, trailers, heaters, washing machines, working Technics/Marantz/old-school Sony stereos, lawn mowers, copper, the list goes on.

If someone doesn't take it from the side of the road, the people collecting it will score all the good stuff, guaranteed. Plus you're helping them if you take stuff, they don't have to pick as much up :D

That's my logic as well.

I've got a few car parts I'm going to put out with hard rubbish, and I bet they'll be long gone by the time it's meant to actually be picked up. For whoever takes it, good for them
