Who the Fark has a Wedding on Bathurst Weekend?

Good mate of mine has just told me that his Wedding is on the 11th of Oct.
I have known him for 15 years and work with him and he also attended my wedding earlier this year. Bathurst is the one and only holiday that I take every year religously.
Now I am stuck, do I go to Bathurst or Go to the wedding?
+ my wife will be at Bathurst working and wont be able to attend the wedding.

I seriously thinking of Going to Bathurst then driving to Sydney Friday night catching a plane back to Melbourne.
Go to the Wedding on Saturday, flying back to Sydney on Saturday night, then drive back to Bathurst.
Plane flights are ony $250 return + $100 in fuel for the car + parking at Sydney airport = $50 for cans of redbull.

Yep it is a big week of drinking and having a good laugh.
Normally go up Wednesday and come home Monday.

I am willing to do the drive fly thing, but we will see what happens cos it is ment to be a holiday, and this will make it not one.
He is a AFL person so did not care about Bathurst.

At least you go up to Bathurst to have a few drinks with the boys, otherwise its just the same boring shit every year anyway.
It's not like they race modified street cars now. It's all too controlled. I reckon i watch half an hour of it in the morning and then perhaps glance at the tv during the day. Then watch the last 10 laps or so, if i can catch them.

I'd go to a wedding anyday, but it makes it a bit harder if you make a big weekend out of the Bathurst racing, with the missus and mates.

That reminds me when John Howard set a Bathurst weekend as an election day. That really sucked having to go and vote before watching the big race. I've always had a tradition of getting up early and watching the coverage right from the start.

I usually only watch the big one on sunday, so a wedding on sat would not be a huge problem, but if you make an entire week of it then that sucks balls.

Me thinks I will be staying in Melbourne and having a massive Bathurst binge drinking session on the money that I will be saving.
The toll from the Winton weekend (Friday night and Saturday) was a slab of Jim Beam 440ml cans and 2L of Jim Beam. EASPRINT and Myself put in the hard yards to help support DJR.
Sunday was 1.5L of Gaderade and a packet of Quickeze (I was paying for my sins)
