So it's a 7 litre. It's $155,000. The interior looks nice.

i'll never afford one, and if I was able to, i'd buy a porsche. Or a pimp F6, a nice old 57 chev and change to spend on a high class hooker.

looks pretty aggressive... but i dont think id pay 155k for it. would rather get something less expensive that i could actually use without fear of destroying bodywork the first pothole or decent sized bump it hits

I'd get an F6, the force 6, spend money on engine (nizpro kits probably) and make more than enough power using the smaller, more fuel efficient inline 6.
IMO its a waste of money, the huge capacity engine isnt needed when the 4 liter can make more than enough power for the car its in, enough power to spin the wheels up at 225kmph if you wanted to and still be cheaper than that commodore, and cheaper on fuel too.

Interior dash looks like someone painted it them selves, seats would be nice, doesnt look like a $155k car though.

If I had the cash I'd buy one to park next to my F6 and AMG E63, then make posts on AFF saying how much better the W427 is. Until then I'll keep driving my XE and dream of driving the EF again lol..

The W427 is a pretty crazy car, it's not just a stroked Clubsport. Judging by the number of BMW M/AMG/Bentley/Rolls-Royce etc 4 doors that get sold, I reckon HSV will have no problem selling 100 of them.

Dunno if anyone remembers the story, but HSV are losing an LS3 and T5-6 for every W427 they build. The cars start off as GTS's at Holden in Elizabeth with an LS3/6speed as they need an engine to move around the factory, and the dry sumped 427 can't be cheaply fitted on the production line. HSV pull them out and fit the LS7/T-6060 (FG stylez) but can't legally re-fit the test fired LS3's and gearboxes to another car on the production line, so they're selling them 2nd hand.

meh, it's alright. I mean, looks agressive as from the exterior, not a fan of the interior colouring though. and as said, for $155k, i'd be buyin me something worth having, because at the end of the day, its just a commo....re worked like MAD, but just a commo.
I'd much rather a 2nd hand Dodge Viper for that price, or a merc, BMW, something that screams prestige and power. HSV has gone too much with the power side of it, and even fell short on not having something similar to BMW's 'M' (cut sik) button.

Sh!t Box! Looks like an SS with some more plastic on it. I hate VE's!
Adding more and more capacity to an engine is only for people who can't get forced induction right!

saw them at the motor show,

i think there pretty good for a holden,

they will be worth a bit in time,

the only non imported production big block in australia... has to be worth something one day.
70mm t/b and maf, extractors and exhaust, 2500 stall, stage 2 shift kit, ultra lows, pioneer/clarion stereo.

The W427 doesn't have a big block either. It's basically a stroked and bored GenIV.

Clevelands were made in Australia from 1971 till 82.

GenIII/IV's are indeed imported complete from the US.

I'll be able to give you a better answer early in August - I'm being sent down to Melbourne to do a 1.5 day course on them for work, including tour of the Clayton facility etc.

As Phoenix said, I think a second hand Viper would be infinitely more preferable to this thing, regardless of how well it goes/stops/turns...A Viper does it for me big time, VEs in general, just really don't. At all.

yeah i thought it was still a bored small block, mate told me and i was sure.

Some Bowell Nagris were fitted with bigblocks i think...

The Commodore V8 after the end of the 304 has always been a US crate motor of sorts. The Falcons last windsor was bacily an imported block wtih mostly australian parts, same with the current 5.4, unique to australia with a host of aussi parts, correct yes/no?

yeah but thats a 1 off super rare car,

not a regular production with like few hundred made

turns out it is a small block bored and stroked so i have even less "wowness" about it

just another factory stroker from holden

jsut like a 355 hsv senator from the 90's
