Price of a fairmont

Postby Calimino6 » August 16th, 2008, 1:10 pm

Hey guys, What do u reckon a decent price for a EA Fairmont 3.9 would be? Its got no rust whatsoever and only a small dent in one door and a tiny little one on the bonnet, looks almost normal. I only payed $300 for it and took the roo-bar off and got rid of the hubcaps and painted the wheels black, what should i do to fully pimp it out? (not over the top, just simple and nice)

some pics are...

If it was a manual/ 4 speed auto and MPFI you scored a bargain but if you got a earlier one with the 3 speed auto and the CPI you got ripped. Just use it as a daily car IMO and do a few mods such as exhaust, extractors and maybe a cam. No point doing too much to a EA.

$300 is a good price whatever it is. They're still not worth much but a tidy one is worth at least $500 imo.

So you'd pay $300 for a 3.2 CPI with the 3 speed auto?

It says multipoint in his sig, and it looks pretty straight in the pics. I'd say $300 was a pretty fair price then.

If you plan to upgrade to another e-eries (EF/L or ED) later on, then try and do mods which can be transferred. ie lowered springs, extractors + exhaust.

I love EA's pesonally, but I wouldnt pay more than $500-ish for one to be honest. (unless it was mint)

Lowering, some factory wheels (turboblades ;) ) and upgrade of the interior or colour coding would be what I would do first,if it was already multipoint.

Considering I could sell it off at 400+ to the metal recyclers/wreckers, yes, I would as well.
