i need to know some info regarding a license loss as mine is gone in the next month.

n e ways was done speeding 130 is what the cop put down but i was doing about 160 and he knew it, got a fine of 300ood bucks & 4 points.

i ask how long will i be loosing it for he recons 1 month But i only had 2 points left on my license and the fine i copped wanted 4 so im owing 2 points whats going to happen with the owing points.???

i dont wanna really go to Vic roads coz i dont wanna hear ive lost it for 6 months as its going to kill me so i thought id throw the Q up hear first.

Don't you get an option to either lose the licence for the said time or have a probation period where you only have 1 point for double the suspension time?

Thankfully, not an area I've had to look into. So I'm not to sure. But if it's gone, it'll be more than a month.

prob 1-3 months and the letter saying loose it for a certain amount or go on 0 points for a year.
i think theres something about 25kph and over you automatically loose it for X amount of time.

You will lose it for 6 months. Just happened to a mate about a week ago, same point scenario as you also.

I suggested you go Vicroads and find out though, coz nothing would be worse than driving with a suspended licence without knowing it, coz they've heard that a million times too.

A friend of mine got the option of lose the licence for 3 months and get your points back, or go on the 12 months 1 point job......

But it might be different considering you were speeding, and being that far over the limit.....

Havent rang vic roads to find out for sure yet but yea I think the 3 months no licence or 12 months 1 point thing is right coz thats what ive been told from everyone ive asked.......

I think you will cop it twice.

AFAIK, at least in QLD, if you go x amount of km over you get an automatic licence loss of x amount of time, a fine, AND points.

If you have enough points left then you just cop the original punishment and that is that.

If you have not enough points, you cop the original punishment for the ticket, PLUS you then ALSO lose your licence for however long the rules state for running out of points. It's a totally fked up system, politicians love the PEN15.

If you have 2 points and you lose 4, you will just lose your licence for the normal time period, and you will have all your points back when you get your licence back - they don't take the 'extra' two off the 'new' licence.

yeah i think 25km/h and over is automatic 3-6 months loss but 40km/h and over is "hoon" law material so u are very lucky he didnt tow ur car away and send u to court man.
