This and the Arrow are tad diffent in styling. the arrow got head lights similar to a merc this looks way better than an arrow.

yeh i know there different. Has the merged xr headlights and comes in like an acid rush green. All i know that i was a deal done with ford and a motorsport company based with mercedes. You take any AU to them and 90 grand and they will tranform your car into the ford arrow. Something around 300kw plus etc. Thats what i was told years back at the ford factory in broady. I saw a poster and ask the guy "what is that?" Dont know if its true or not.

I must say, that beats out the Holden Camira for the uglyest looking Australian car ever. It would of been good if they used the driveline/interior combo in a normal Xr8 falcon though (similar to how the aftermarket companys of SVO, AIT etc did with the EAs.)

I'm pretty sure there's already a thread on there, but IIRC Hilliers made 3 of these as show cars and sold them all. One was turned into the Arrow, and I remember the 300+ being green originally before they sold it. At the time someone from Ford came and inspected their work and rated the build as good as factory.

Yep. There was an article on them in Performance Ford where they had a burgundy coupe and a black sedan. They were saying that they were going to make BA versions of the 300+ and release them to the public, but that obviously didn't happen in the end.

I reckon the 300+ looks great. At least they did a proper job with the lower roofline, different windows etc. unlike those 2 door BAs another company was creating that looked like a sedan with 2 doors welded shut.

the AU needed a 300+ though, 300kw was a decent step up from anything availablein the AU2 range.
the BA woulda needed to be a 350+ :P
and if they ever wanted to do an FG... probably need to look at 400+

Who has pics of the Terra ute, now thats a concept car!

The 300+ Coupe was a joint project between Tickford, the Hillier Brothers and AEC. AEC were planning on partially building them for Tickford to sell as their own cars, but by then the BA was out, and the AU was an ultra-epic fail that Ford needed to get miles away from.. The supercharged 4.6 is a lot better than the 5.4 though, it would have been good if they used it in the XR8s.

I've never been much of a fan of the Hillier AU coupes, I don't like the angled up, pointy rear side window profile. I've seen photoshops where the rear windows follow the sedans lines and curves down from the roof to the window line (if you can follow any of that :P) and I think they look much better.

ABS = spongy brakes, but you'll slow to about 60

non-ABS = lock up at 100 & skid past the roo doing about 95. But you'll look sick doing it

That Turbo coupe was built buy xtreme motorsport out of leftover/spare scorcher parts...the shell might have been done by the same people...

Au Coupes...

-Original green Au 6cyl Hillier
-Red Hillier built XR8
-Arrow Coupe

-the Original green coupe is the car that was used for the 300+ (well to my knowlage) that was decked out my millard (?) design (Body kit etc) AEC did the driveline...tickford wasn' involved i don't think...

-The Red XR8 was built for some lucky dude with money

-The Arrow was a joint build by Roman-Autotek and hillier, uses merc lights...

Dreamtech built a BA coupe...

No it isn't. This is actually an EB with a turbo 6 while the Scorcher was an EA fitted with a V8. Supposedly the shell was built alongside the Scorcher which explains the similarities. The Scorcher bodykit and stuff were fitted to this later on.
