EB GT = $19,000 and it does a 15.2 1/4 mile.
Low KM V8 EB2/ED Ghia with all leather+ 351 Windsor crate engine+ new suspension componets+ proper shift kit+ 17" plus rims= Less than $19,000 and it would do a low 14 1/4 mile.
Do you really just want to pay a premium for a fancy name, a revised version of a engine that would otherwise be asmatic, woodgrain inserts, a different steering rack and a fugly body kit?

serial_fool wrote:The problem is you fucking idiot, the GT is a tarted up Ghia even if it has that ever-so-very-special GT badge on the doortrims and the boot garnish. Now go back to touching yourself over pictures of the XY GTHO.

Nah I call bullshit. The Fairmont couldn't of been the base since most of the STOCK GTs were so ill-equiped it wasn't funny. Check out this quote from Wiki about the GTHOs (which were obviously based on a GT).
"The only thing that was standard on the GTHO that was optional on the GT was the 36 gallon fuel tank. You had to pay extra for the left hand mirror. You had to pay extra for the radio. Yout had to pay extra for window winders (otherwise a screwdriver was necessary to wind down the windows). You had to pay extra for the bumper bar overriders and you had to pay extra for the privilege of owning the greatest race car ever produced by Ford Australia."
I'd assume in 1972 that a Left hand mirror, radio, window winders, etc would of been standard on a Fairmont yeah?
At any rate, lets stop this shitfight about ancient cars.

Car are made to be driven, not to be babied like mummys fucking darling because of the percieved "history" of the model. The original GTs were built to be driven hard by the bathurst-wanna-bees (much like the E series now)but the EB and EL GTs were just glorified V8 Fairmont Ghias IMO. The mock would wipe the floor in every area except from resale value and uglyness even if you didn't use the 351 crate engine.
The EB GT was a Ghia anyway with a VL Walkinshaw imitator bodykit and extra "35"KW ( I use quotations because everyone knows it never was 200 in street guise).
They were called Falcon GTs but were based on the Fairmont. That's because they were "Grand Tourers". Similarly with the E-series, they're based on the Fairmont Ghia, but called a Falcon GT.BLCKED wrote:x series gts were falcons not fairmonts...
