Sunroof for my EF

Postby Italian_Stallion » September 3rd, 2008, 1:33 pm

Hey guys,

I was wondering if anyone can give me some advice in buying a new aftermarket sunroof. Where would you guys recommend I should get this done? I heard Custom Sunroofs in Maidstone is pretty good and apparently they do jobs for the XR Club?

Looking forward to hearing ur suggestions!

Cheers.....

Just got to be careful who does it because if its done incorrect, over time it will leak and you will get wind noise. I used to work at Ford and had a few E series that had terrible jobs done to them. Also keep in mind if your a tall bloke that installing a sunroof will lower the roof lining inside the car.

ABS = spongy brakes, but you'll slow to about 60

non-ABS = lock up at 100 & skid past the roo doing about 95. But you'll look sick doing it

Ultracool sunroofs (I suspect no longer in business?) did my first one...was $1950 from memory back in 2002.

Second one (in my second EL) I got Prestige Sunroofs in Burwood to do it - $2200 I think back in 2004.

Went and saw the guy over in Maidstone...was pretty good bloke to talk to...has owned the business for ages and seemed to know his stuff. I'd feel fine about getting a roof done by either Custom or Prestige no worries. Haven't heard anything about Sunroof Centre in Noble Park though - anyone got anything to say about them ?
