Nokia Maps?

hi all,

just wondering if anyone here uses nokia maps? i just got a n95 and tried setting it up but as soon as i seach a position it shuts it down. i set the network provider to telstra, does it cost you extra money?

It should have built in maps I think which you can use in offline mode. If you want to use GPS that's extra.

Assuming the provider is Telstra it will probs cost you.
If it's the N95 8GB, it has A-GPS which uses network triangulation to find your position faster. This equates to data usage.
You need to also download a map of Australia onto the phone otherwise each new location you look at will basically be a picture that's been downloaded to your phone via the network.

The shutting down sounds strange though. Try switch off, switch on <-- magical fix.
Otherwise check the Nokia website for software updates specific to the N95

i got an N95 8GB, never quite figured out how the GPS works, i think it will work offline but some streets may not come up and it will get confused. It needs the internet sometimes I beleive to get street names etc etc.

Route66 is the company that did the navigator software on my Nokia 6110 Navigator, if that helps

thats why u go to nokia.com/maps and download map of aus so it doesnt need to use ANY network usage and wont cost you any money.
