Told ya Glenn....either mask up the doors and spray the strips up, or remove them and do it. ;)

remove them and do it. for best results get a good high gloss 2pac red and you wont need to clear em

on mine the strips themselves are actually grey and red (grey the color of the car) so if you take them off, you may have to actually still mask them up.

a couple of other ways -

** try on something plastic faded not so important first so you see how this works.
Use a heat gun on it - prior to melting point, the polymers in the plastic get active and look new again.

or...

Try the Auto Glym product called Bumper care, this is made up of plastic polymers and does not attract dust and will last up to a couple of months at a time (i would try this first as you may be completely happy with the results, you can order it through Autobarn if they don't have it on the shelf ~$20)

Both of these work and can be used on many of the black plastic components on these cars for a 'new' look

be extremley careful using this method as its VERY easy to screw it up...
i use this method after sanding plastic that i've plastic welded to restore the original finish or prior to repainting... im not too sure if it would work on the bumper strips though if you had a spare one it wouldnt hurt to try it
