Drifto Damage MKII

Postby Bomber » October 5th, 2008, 9:53 am

Wss heading home last night after cruising with some fellow boosted peeps around 3am. Jumped onto eastlink from princess and got haalfway down between Greens Rd and Thompsons Rd there was an accident cops had blocked off 2 of 3 lanes after a driver swerved to miss a fox and hit the wire impact fence and totaled the car. The police had traffic moving through at a snails pace stopping each car to wave them through and I hear the inevitability of an accident when a car flying up behind me locked up not having any where to go as the car infront of me was stopped copped a hit from behind. Rear bar is fooked but there doesnt look to be any structual damage and the rear qaurters are all straight. BLOODY VOLVO DRIVERS!!!!

now for the pics ...

Spewing... but it could have been a lot worse. Hopefully insurance don't muck you around too much and you get it all fixed in no time.

The sheer stupidity of some people amazes me - you are the 4th nose-to-tail I know of this year caused by people not paying attention - My ex's S15 copped two hits in the ass just this year (insert ex+ass joke here) and OED666 copped one too.

You should be allowed to kill people for that shit IMHO.

5! I got rear ended a month or so ago. Tow bar stopped any damage.

Hopefully the insurance company can match the paint when they fix it. Isnt matching a pearl really hard?

if you got all the details from the other guy, eg name and address etc, the insurance company should help you out, even with 3rd party, also take him to court, you should win.

Well I called into the shop today so they could take some assesment snaps of the damage and its around $1500 worth of damage. New bar will be ordered and they have plenty of paint left over from when the sprayed it a few months back so all good there and apparantly the boot lid has a few marks from the crash so the boot lid and spoiler are being resprayed and the holes are being removed for the badges on the bootlid this time round too.

You need to get a tow bar mate! Saved my ass (literally! :P ) when I got rear ended by some duche on the calder heading to drags one afternoon a while ago. Heavy traffic, so wasn't going too fast, but the bloke was paying no attention at all, didn't even hear any brakes! Of course he was a commo driver! I was lucky enough to get away with roughly the same damage as yours Bomber, but managed to write off the stupid VR! Tow bar right through the radiator, whole front end was shattered. I even took his front bar with me when I moved the car out of the road!
