.....

Yes Gerendasi. Its the basically the same motor - same capacity which is what they go by, in NSW at least - so all you have to do is tell VicRoads or the RTA or whoever the new engine number.

I think he may be referring to cutting the cross-member to make the AU sump fit ?

Well you dont have to cut it, you can mod the sump. Dunno what way that cars been done tho.
Best way to do it IMO is to cut the k frame, and then weld a flat piece of steel across it.

Ned hit the crossmember with a sledge hammer from memory.

I know you can mod the sump / beat the crap out of the crossmember...was just thinking he may have done it the proper (read VicRoads) way...but yeah - as far as VicRoads is concerned, it's just a 4L...I wouldn't go to the trouble of telling them you have cut this and modded that when there are visibly no differences to the untrained eye.

Haha I saw the guy a few weeks ago and he was telling me he was selling it. I see it on a regular basis and my mates were always telling me how fucked the thing got since I sold it. Still can't believe I sold it for $5000!

As for the AU motor, it's the same shit to Vicroads but I did go and change the engine number so they already know about it. And the crossmember, yes, all I done was hit it with a sledgey, so no problems there either.
