Speedo Problem

According to my mates gps my speedo is 10kms too slow is there a reason this would have happened and dose anyone know how to fix it?

change ya diff ratio?
change wheel size?

i assume the diff is standard and the wheels are only 15's

Same thing is the go to mine,
Its only got 16" ftrs and standard diff and my speedos 5 to 6 kms out according to my gps.
Wouldnt you have to change the cogs? or is there another way of adjusting it?

5-6 k out seems about the norm.
mine was allways out.
they come from factory a bit out.
plus tyre wear etc affects it slightly.

i would go with the speedo being correct rather than the gps if you have 15's and stock diff..
my navman does the same but i dont listen to betty, (girlfriend decided to name the gps betty

No the gps would be far more accurate. Generally Falcons usually go slower than the speedo suggests. It's not such an issue. Just drive a few kms over the speed limit and it's all good.

Pull the cluster apart, remove the speedo needle, and put it back on a tooth lower (i.e. anti clockwise 1). That's what I did for mine and it reads 98km/h with the GPS 100km/h. No cop is going to pull you over for 102 in a 100 zone. Just remember you won't have that extra margin rolling down hills etc.

My speedo's says 100 when really I'm doing 90k's, so with the help of a gps i get to 100km/h then put the cruise control on, my speedo says 115k's!

Is it originally 5 speed or is it converted?
sender gear might be wrong, or the diff has been changed.
