well im board so here's what i've done since AFF fukt us off:
Tickford head with AU gasket

lol not alot but for an apprentice it was a major expense. with Frost selling me his XR motor for a FANTASTIC price, head reco, gasket and other seals, bolts and looms it cost me around $900 and about 14hrs at nights and weekend (which took forever coz i work a night job also). anyways once it gets over 3000rpm it pulls noticably better but not as much as i had hoped. even with my wade 1636 and all the compression i think il be lucky to punch out 120RWKW. hoping that the pacemakers which i own but are still on my housemates EA will really give the old wags up a kick in the arse lol. more soon.

I'm thinking 3.45 + lokka + mudrunners = E-Series RTV wagon!

Nice Wagon so far.... quickest E-Series Wagon soon to be? Maybe put a few back burners in the rear, for the little extra shove!

lol yeah the paint lasted about 15min but in that time it went from the blue to black to white then dispersed completely. didnt even get a pic of them in the bay haha.
little bits and pieces here and there, maybe front seats oneday. certainly needs the body fixed up (dints and chips all over from car parks, hail, trees[tree sap is evil on paint], a pole and a foot)

fairly certain there is an exterior shot up there somewhere of when i got the 17s back on. if not check my dodge as avatar pic

Postby CaRtZ » March 3rd, 2009, 5:26 pm

well yesterday (02/03/09) at 287xxxkms, the beloved EF stopped. came to a crunching halt. the timing chain has broken or jumped and done some seriours f@#! off damage. i pulled the rocker cover off before work this morning and found all of the rocker arms on the inlet side have smashed to bits. i dunno if any valves are bent as i am yet to take the head off. im trying to make a decision as to just:
1. swap in my spare XR bottom end and std top into it and sell it,
2. or to rebuild it to std specs (using xr bottom end and tickford head thats in the car atm) and keep it,
3. or to rebuild it for serious NA power,
4. or rebuild it for boost.

keep in mind a am an apprentice who lives out of home so i doubt i will go the force fed route no matter how much i want to, as it will take more than 2yrs. but some work will have to be done :banghead:

Sucks to hear.

Pretty sure bottom ends are the same from standard to XR.

Have the head checked and then whack it on another stocko bottom end - voila ! Should be cheap and easy finding a bottom end somewhere - so many people wrecking cars etc.
