Hey guys,

Anyway plan to upgrade to catback exhaust, superlows all round, either 17's or 18s, and who knows what else.. car is in really good nick for its age so look forward to sexing it up :D
Im pretty much ready for my first mod.. ive got about 400 bucks to spend, what would you guys do, catback or springs first?

cheers

springs
They shall plant vineyards and drink the wine of them. And they shall build their lay cities and live in them
And they shall also make gardens and eat the fruit of them. And I will plant them upon their land, which I have given them
And the mountains shall drop sweet wine and the hills shall melt.

Nice pic. I like those rims, too bad they're not bigger. I'd go springs but for that money you won't be getting matching dampers or labour, so are you doing em yourself?

You kent! You stole my car!

Springs + shocks to suit will be well over $400 + labour.

Give yourself about 250 for springs, and another 250 -350 for suitable shortened shocks for the front end. rears will be ~ $100 or so each.

Its pretty easy to change the springs and shocks too, so you can save a fair wad of cash doing it yourself.

I wouldn't consider any vehicle with ill matching springs and dampers safe - you need the bump and rebound dampening to match the different rate of travel in the spring. In saying that, I know not all of the members on here have always put both in at the same time. You can do it, but I'd advise against it.

Well mine have been that way for quite a few months now, while its not desirable, it is acceptable. My car handles better now than before.

Just throw the springs in, as well as a 2nd hand catback ($100 give or take) then save up for shocks later on. It'll look better and sound better. And be in the budget.

Cheers mate, the three seems alright at the moment.. ive just got one 16 on there with the 225/50/R16 tyre so its not too bad.. but depending on how long it takes me to find a 4th i might grab a few stockies for the back.

Any suggestions for further mods?

cheers

Shift kit was mentioned. That's a great (and stupidly cheap) mod to do if you can solder a little bit.

Have a look at this -> http://www.fordmods.com/forums/shift-ki ... t2378.html
