Ok heres some simple steps I gained by using the search function built into this forum.

Yes it is possible
Define Engineering
You require an EB-EF-EL K Frame designed for V8
Also the V8 wiring loom
V8 Radiator

its more engineering as a ea was never meant to be released with a v8.

if your in qld thats piss simple. :P

If you replace everything with the EB/ED V8 equivalent, wouldn't that make VicRoads engineering piss easy, or would it still need to be tested?

EB/ED K-frames have I6 and V8 versions, EF/EL are all the same, and won't fit an EA-ED unless you change all the front suspension over to EF or EL spec. For the V8 conversion you'll need the ECU, TCU, trans, all the sensors and electrics from the motor itself, V8 EB-ED steering rack, new exhaust.

IIRC you'll need a custom trans crossmember if you're fitting it to an S1 EA as well, the EA 1 trans crossmember sits further forward than the later ones.

Physically its an easy/straight forward job.
legally it requires engineering.

my EA 1 Wagon has an EL V8

Was there any hassles with the trans crossmember?

Yep.
I hacked up a spare cross member and made some extra brackets.

supposedly the strut towers are weaker on a ea and it requires a strut brace when i inquired about it few years back.

That doesn't make any sense though considering the V8 only weighs a few kg more, the engines weight is taken by the chassis rails, the strut towers don't take any of the engines weight, and strut tower braces do SFA on Falcons.
