Hi Everyone, heres my eb V8 Turbo

Postby shannon360 » December 18th, 2008, 7:08 pm

Hi All
I joined up a couple of weeks ago but have been cleaning up my car abit since i bought it about 3 weeks ago so have waited till now to show it off.
AS some will see it was previously owned by another member of these forums and you might remember it,I first saw it advertised on ebay and loved it so i ended up with it,AND I COULDNT BE HAPPIER.
Lucky for me all the hard work has been done by the previous owner,i have just added a couple of things and have more plans for it.

It's in Street Fords #46 complete with tinted Fairmont garnish and taillights. IMO it is a great looking car, and would go well too but as others have said those new taillights look terrible. If you still have the old taillights and garnish, you should put them back on as they looked awesome.

So i guess no one likes the tail lights, fair enough,im not 2 keen on them either but put them on cause i bought them(looks like i wasted my money) although i think they might look alrite if i could tint them, does anyone know what to use to tint them as the taillights that were on the car when i bought it were tinted,if i cant tint these new lights i will put the old ones bak on.
I know this might be a stupid question but what the hell do you all mean by garnish.
It was in street fords no 46 and was also on street fords on location volume 5.
As for the turbo, Wes who previously owned it said it was 217rwkw at 8 pound boost,i have it set at 6 and its fast enough for the street, and yeh,its very reliable,i use it every day at the moment, love drivin it.
Next big step is to change the diff as the spoolled diff is a pain in the arse on the street and paint the engine bay

The garnish is the middle section between the tail lights located on the boot lid.
Yours is black, and it would look better if it was the same colour as the rest of the car. :)

Thought that was what everyone meant by the garnish,it is a fairmont one but has been tinted,i do have some normal coloured ones lying around.
And i have also put the taillights that came with the car back on,thats what i love about these e series cars, there so easy to work on,if you dont like it,it only takes a minute to change it back

Love this car!!!

Was the speed-cutout ever sorted out? If I remember correctly it would cut out at 180 (well, 140ish but due to the diff telling the speedo otherwise it would cut out at "180") and could "only" manage high 14s due to this?

Looks mint with the tinted lights/garnish on it.

Is there another build thread about this car? I haven't seen it before and it looks interesting. Do you have any pics of the plumbing around the turbo?

Some block-splitting potential there, and it'll come on boost nice and quick with the GT35/40 I imagine :D

Good luck with the computer man, you should get some very good power and stump-pulling torque out of it!

its hard to look at it with those number plates
i was going to put the clear tailights on it too but never got around to it.
paint the spare black garnish blueprint and paint the reflector stripe on the new tailights blueprint too. need to fit reflectors somewhere and maybe a truck supply shop has decent looking stickon ones.

turbo kit was made by mike's dyno tuning in vic.

i got a quote from adaptronic for the ECU they are in crows nest and was $2200 drive in drive out plus larger injectors
look out for some 36lb or 42lb injectors second hand maybe try american forums.

i look forward ot seeing it again

Nice car, always loved it, leave the tail lights alone now, they are perfect for the car. Clear tail lights look homo, and so does colour coded boot garnishes!

This car would look even better with the MMM side skirts and body moulds put back on!

Anyway, good purchase and good luck with it.
