twin t/b's out of the bonnet would look fu**ing tuff on a charged lane. It might'en be a bad option either. It would save on some costs to modifying air intake and bonnet. Would be running mafless too

I could always replace the F150 TB assembly with an Enderle bug catcher sitting directly on top of the M112, and have it poking through the bonnet a little bit sitting underneath a '70 Mustang Boss 429 scoop

Wouldn't suit the style of the car though

It'll all be running mafless anyway, as it'll have full megasquirt using a MAP sensor to determine the airflow.

I'm after some opinions here, regarding the airflow dynamics of pressurized air and bell mouths/runners.

I've come up with the two following designs, first being a flange plate with 8 bell mouths welded to it. The bellmouths have a small 3mm radius on the top, as that is all that could fit before the bell mouths started touching each other.

The second is the flange plate with the runner holes having a 5mm radius on each one.
My theory is that since the explorer manifold lower half is being retained, there is no need for a bell mouth to increase the runner length... The advantage to this method is a lower profile supercharger adaptor, and a larger radius on the hole.

I've been slack and haven't really touched on this for a while...

I had a huge stack of work to do this morning, so I did this instead





Its all 8mm thick 6061 Alloy Sheet... The Sandwich plate in between the Eaton and the adaptor will have the water to air intercooler core welded to the underside of it so it can be lifted out seperatly... It also means it can be retrofitted at a later date... meaning I can get it going without an intercooler whilst I sort the core and other crap out.

Cheers Wayne, It looks like the inlet was a one off fabrication. I have seen a few higher flowing aftermarket inlets to suit the lightning blower. But I've got the standard lightning inlet and TB assembly, which should do the trick for the power levels I'm after.

Although, who knows what I'll end up doing... I was looking at 1UZ-FE engines the other day

Yeah of definantly looks like a one off but thought it might give you some ideas to keep the inlet as low as possible. It looks as though the inlet pipe isn't any higher than the blower. Good luck with it

Copped a major defect last night for being too low, and since the car has been giving me the shits lately, I'm going to take the oppertunity of having to get a RWC as a good excuse for selling it.

I'll proberly sell the Eaton too, as I'll have nothing to install it on.

Is the car too low or were they just being picky? If the answer to that is that it is way too low then why did you lower your car to the point where it's way too low and then get annoyed when the cops call you out on it?

I just don't understand dumping a street car to a ridiculous level that gets you defected and makes the car a pain to drive because your always avoiding driving over things.

Don't give up on it though, raise it up to a more acceptable level and the problem is solved.

It isn't what I would call 'excessivly' low, the cop that got me was a smug prick on a power trip. They are just standard king SL in the front and SSL in the rear. The cop's VE SSV looked to have roughly the same ground clearence

Its not just the height that is the reason for me to get rid of it, I've been thinking about selling it for a while now, and this happening is just the catalyst for it.

Its the same, 100mm I think. Look at in in this on road shot though, looks more than 100mm!!

It was probably the exhaust that did it I would say. If you have anything under the car hanging below that height, you will get done, despite how the rest of the car sits. Its harsh, but that's how they get you.

The cop's little 100mm wheel on a stick hit the exhaust and the chassis rail apparently.
I reckon the exhaust was proberly hanging too low(Its farked anyway), but not the chassis rail.

Oh, and not that it mattered to the cop, but the rear seat was covered in a fortnights worth of grocery shopping, with the baby's pram and other crap in the boot.

yes, but also you cant reduce suspension travel by more than 1/3 from stock. Given that the stock suspension resembles something like a 4wd, means even just SL springs & short shocks probably are a defect by state law
