Bit of dirt turbo there!

The black stuff is only there as a guide

The burnout was a skocker - the clutch shat itself which meant I could only use 2nd gear, and it was pretty much impossible to keep the engine off the limiter - it had easily enough power to pull 4th, but the clutch wouldn't hold. The car is capable of so much more than what you see in the skid pics!
89AIT - are those pics off the actual powercruise dvd? If so I'm amazed at the number of them, bloody hell. Makes up for last year when I did all the same stuff but didn't make it into any photos!
I had a bit of a mixed weekend...I'm surprised at how quick the car is for sure - I raced and drilled quite a few cars I didn't think I would

but at the same time I had a shocker - My brand new brass button clutch disntegrated during the burnouts on friday night, which meant I had to throw the stocker back in and use that for the rest of the weekend. It held up surprisingly well but now slips at WOT in any gear other than first.
Using the stock clutch meant that powerskids were out (clutch dump in second = slip not wheelspin) and also that I couldn't use 3rd in the drifting, only second, which meant less smoke and sickness exiting turn 6

Much thanks to everyone who helped me change the clutch at 10:00 at night when they could have been sleeping!
Also, the rear brakes started to drag, so the rear pads lasted approx 15,000km, as opposed to the last set which lasted 50,000km, and I had to drive home using pretty much only compression braking as they were down to the backing plate by sunday arvo.
The thing I'm most pissed about though, is running into a damn pole at like 3km/h. Oh my god, I think I am the most retarded person ever, and it's not a very funny retardation!
I was waiting in the marshalling area to go out into pit lane and the marshals started waving my line of cars through. At the sides of each lane there are big bright yellow bollards that are very big and bright and yellow and obvious. There was a powercruise marshal about 15m away on my left and one quite close on my right. As we drove towards them the one on the left made a "show me your arm bands" hand signal to us so we all held up our arms to show him, and I started to turn right to head out to the pits.
I noticed the marshal on the right was also making wierd arm movements and couldn't tell if he was motioning to me or to the guy behind, so as we went past him I turned to keep looking at him and I must have turned the wheel more as I turned my head or something, because I nailed the pole right behind the RHF wheel, caving in the guard, the drivers door and the sill panel and bending in the bottom of the A pillar as well. I'm amazed at the amount of damage for such a super-slow speed impact, and I'm absolutely PISSED at myself for making such a stupid mistake.
*sigh*
