Hey everyone,

I've had my EA Fairmont Ghia for a little while now and i'm trying to make it right. This forum is awesome, you guys definitely know your stuff. So that's why i've joined, i need heaps of help improving my car performance wise. Ultimately i'd love to throw a turbo into it, but if that isn't possible i'd like to know what other options i have to improve it. It's running duel fuel at the moment and i have no worries about ripping the gas system out if that would make performance mods easier.

If you guys have any usual meet ups or cruises in brisbane i'd love to come along and get some info of you.

anyway. here's some horrible pics. i'm buying a new camera tomorrow so you'll be able to see all it's flaws when i update the pictures hahah.

Welcome mate, looks low, what springs? Extractors and an exhaust will give you a bit of a power gain.

How many kays does it have? Might be worth putting in a fresher motor (EL XR6?) and a 5 speed conversion while you're doing the exhaust :)

so i've sourced a '96 xr8 motor. for a reasonable price. for it to be compliant it would have to be on straight gas, right? would my existing gas system from the duel fuel set up be adequate enough to do this? i need to know asap, as i'm planning to buy the motor in the next couple of days and don't want to make a huge mistake haha. any help would be much appreciated.

Only put that in if you want it to go slower.

If you want to go faster on a reasonable budget keep your six!

Look at your car. Now back to mine. Now back to yours. Now back to mine. Sadly, yours isn't mine. But if you stopped buying dodgy cars and bought an ED, yours could be like mine. Look down. Back up. Where are you? ...You're on BoostedFalcon, reading the signature your signature could be like! Anything is possible when your car looks like my car... I'm on a computer.

thanks for the input guys. guess i'll sit on it for a while and save some money up.

to answer some other questions asked before, it's on ultra low king springs and it does have extractors and an exhaust system. i bought it with my brother off one of his friends. BIG MISTAKE. The thing was/is a pig. i've got it mechanically sound now but it still needs alot of work done on the paint/body and the interior carpets are pretty badly stained. i'm too far in now to be bothered selling it though. so i'll keep it for a while and hopefully get it back to a decent standard.
