rabs ride ! new pics and up to date spec and new stuff..

Postby rab » February 6th, 2009, 3:45 pm

well, i bought this car in august for the wife as i had a 4x4.. she wanted a pajero when our dog came from uk so i bought an rs turbo liberty for me to play with (didnt work out) and a pajero from aucton that needed fixed up so.... rs was getting the attention and then i realised the falcon was the better option(but one of them had to go due to not working) ... so, here it is. as she stands of today, she is lowered on pedders sportryder springs, poly bushe (partly) 2 1/2 inch sports exhaust from scotts rods, k+n filter from butcher on here, j3 chip from jason on here, variable shift kit (excellent ) 225/60/15 gt front tyres on 15x7 dragway indies, rears are 275/60/15 on 15x8 dragway indies which sit real nice under the rear surprisingly but had to fettle the arches a bit... 8-) no rubbing now and have tsted it with some weights in the boot although could do with stiffer shocks to keep it that way.. painted front grill, didnt like the silver, alpine/sony/jbl install which is great, getting tinted this week..so once i get a job, i will start on the turbo setup.. should be good ! opinions welcomed... as long as ye dont bag my car !

as she was...

I agree the Steelies look heaps better, the back rubber looks nuts though.

Small diameter dished wheels look shit on EF/L, my old GLi proved that.

I reckon on normal stockies with EL Futura Hubcaps would look nuts.

Are you planning to do the clear side repeaters and EF/High series EL rear lights?

i plan on the red and clar xr rear lights as i hate the poofy lexus/altessa clear rear end shit and spoilers etc as i feel it needs a bit of colour there.. the orange has to go...both on sides and rear. the pics dont do the car ustice actually but i do think that a set of 18's and slammed on the deck may be the way to go...but with these wheels on it and lowered , it sure as hell, it isnt boring ! i like simple stuff....low, no add ons, just tinted out and sleek.. 8-) 8-) way to o yet though...

ok , i asnt too sure on what to do or whether i liked these wheels on the falcon... they have grown on me hugely.... 8-) i went and took some pics today. i have came to the conclusion that it needs lower springs and for that, i may have to go down a bit on rear rubber.i think it would look immense olwered more and its getting tinted this week . theres not a lot as you can see of the tyre sits inside arches and i reckon i could get 10-15mm shaved off inside of wheel and that would sort that out totally as there is 40mm easily on inside edge space .... they really have grown on me a lot.. see what you think for yourself.. ye have to admit they are hot wheels.....look nuts !!

it certainly looks different. however i also think the steelies look better, maybe if they were chromed ;)

the current wheels/tyres make the car look like its ready for speedway !!!

but thats only my opinion, and if you like the rims, then keep them and spend money on other things

looks good!!

i got my pacemakers high flow cat and 2 and a half inch system all fitted and that from scotts rods, they do good work, beware when buying extractors they dont use loctite or whatever i dont no as ive already lost a bolt from my extractors to cat flange, almost both of them, and had one on the actual head of the extractors sitting there by a hair, and all the rest have easily had a few turns in them..

PS, nice car :P

Looks fukin nuts with the fats lol.

Just got to lower it like you said a touch more all round....

All EF tail lights have the clear indicator, as do all EL Fairmonts. I'm pretty sure EL XR are the same as what you have.

You could also tint the side indicator near black with nightshades if you dont want clears, or, remove the whole door strip and get AU indicators... dunno...

xr rears are just red and clear afaik so are heaps better than the tango'ed ones on mine, the clear repeaters will blend in with the white body once mouldings are removed.. and yeah, will have a look tomorrow morning...and it seems to have came down a bit since fitting the wheels due to settling a bit but it would look even better tucked and on its ass.. something to work towards... i hate run of the mill and it wont be easy to mistake it for another EL thats for sure... 8-) ps, gave the wheels a wee buff today with ferecla to bring the rims up... i will meguiars wax the alloy billet sometime this week....unless i get a job ! :D

Would be cheaper for you to get some local than me sell you a set plus post on em.
Any EFs will do, gli, futura, mont - but only EL monts... so they should be pretty common and cheap.

I doubt theyd look twice at your car.

cool.... and kris, the cops could look over this all day if they liked... its mint in and out (apart from carpark decoration) underneath is all blacked and undersealed, every bush is less than 1yr old with the exception of 1 or 2. suspension is also newish. they couldnt ever find a genuine fault on it...

they could dont you worry... they always find something. a little rubber bung not in your spare wheel well, numberplate light not bright enough, if your windscreen washerbottle has ran out of water, just so many loopholes for cops to do what they like
