Took the ef for skid tonight

Postby Tuffbicky » September 15th, 2007, 12:28 am

I don't post much but I'm fairly happy with my effort ,so I thought I might as brag a bit.
I had four runs tonight & ran 13.76,13.76,13.73,13.70 with 1.93-1.95 60ft @98.54-99.65 mph.
Was hoping for a 13.5 but still happy with the effort.
I need a quicker 60ft time but I don't think the auto will let me acheive that.

Pics and timeslips or ban :)

You'll have to forgive us if we sound a little suspicious - your car sounds extremely similar to a (now banned) members car who claimed very similar times, N/A, but was running nitrous....If you are for real, you are my hero...but you have to prove it.

Look at your car. Now back to mine. Now back to yours. Now back to mine. Sadly, yours isn't mine. But if you stopped buying dodgy cars and bought an ED, yours could be like mine. Look down. Back up. Where are you? ...You're on BoostedFalcon, reading the signature your signature could be like! Anything is possible when your car looks like my car... I'm on a computer.

Yes even with the switch chip if you load it up to 3800 it will go into limp mode & stuff up the afr's
the car runs rich, but if you stall it up to aruond 2000rpm & stand on it at the green it doesn't go into limp mode.

No need to be suspicious on the other forum I was cotton eye joe, the car is n/a,I live in mackay nth qld.
This has not been an overnight job, I started modding the engine 3.5 years ago, It's first ever run was a 16.1.
You would think I was mad If you new how much money & time I spent on it. When I work out How to post up my slips I will,
& I would love To post a video of it at the drags on youtube but I havn't got a video of it yet .

Scan, or even take a photo of your dyno and time slips, then go to http://www.photobucket.com - create a user account, then upload the pics, and then paste the links in this thread. It's all pretty self explanitory, but if you need any help just ask.

Got the timeslips onto photo bucket. I also added a video of the ef at the townsville hill climb I
did last september ,the car isn't much to look at I'm more concered on how it goes.
It was running 3.45 lsd & 2600 stall then & ran a 14.5 quarter consistantly
now has the 4.11,lokka & 3800 stall

Thats a hugely impressive time for an Auto. Do you know what kind of weight you're running?

I have similar mods, minus the bottom end work, and have only netted a 15 flat. I know my cam timing was out quite a bit (since fixed, need to go to the track again), my bottom end has 260Ks on it, and I have a lot more weight (Fairmont electrics/stereo/LPG), but reading this thread really makes me wonder what else is wrong with my setup. I need help!

a) posting slips and a vid
b) having timeslips that don't point to nitrous
c) consistency!!

the weight I run when I race is the same as I run on the street, that is jack ,spare, some tools & fuel , however I do use 255/50 16 m/t street radials it's the easyest way to stop wheelspin. On friday I would have had about 40 liters + I'm 95kilo's so at a guess 1550kg or more.I was only running 15.3 with 3.45lsd no stall & no chip just factory ecu.

ohh, mt street radials... :(

still, an impressive time... Your just ahead of V8 Ghia, who ran a 13.75, also on mt street raidals.

here is a vid of my 13.82, on my $135 17's... :D and no wheelspin.

Well bugger me sideways!!!! Who would have thought a BTR could ever launch?

Your car is seriously impressive mate, it must have some insane midrange to be able to drag the car down the quarter in the same time as OED, when you take into account more power loss through and auto and a probably heavier car.

Full props to you!

Now...OED....about that head work...........It's going to happen if I have to break into your shed and pull the head off while you sleep!

i know what needs to be done skrotum.

maybe i will hold off on the turbo for 12 months (i will probably still buy parts required for it though). at least i will have a decent crack at the N/A title in Vic next winter on our road trip... :( You have to let me have a steer of your car then. :P I didnt get a drive of the red one.

i still reckon your car will kill JMMs time if you drag spec it for one weekend paul. front runners.. (even povo eb 14's) standard suspension.. et streets.. no front swaybar.. all adds up to massive time drop.

Yeah we could do that...but anyone can go fast if you ditch all the weight out of the car - it's far more impressive if you do it as driven on the street.

OED - don't think I have forgotten I owe you a drive, I've mentioned it to a few people. Once the panels are fixed and I have a not gay clutch you can give it a royal serving :D

great work mate, im very envious.

i ran mine again yesterday after "fixing" some issues with cam timing & valve springs and ran a whole second SLOWER, but in hotter temps and hitting the limiter in 2nd. it rained before i got another run in :(

i would be happy with high 14s considering my weight & tyre disadvantage.

do you know what the tornado ran ?

Not sure on what we ran on that run had 5 runs got 3 time slips My mate said it ran 104mph
he had a slow R/T but i was still way ahead down the other end.

By the way do you have any relatives here in Mackay .I have Grech's for neighbours & know a few Grech families
here in Mackay.

Yeah it happens alot do a mod that should help performance then hit the track & the bitch is slower.

Hey,

Nah sorry, any Grech relations to us are quiet scarce lol!

Also yea generally when you mod your car performance wise, it "feels" quicker but then shortly after, you get shattered., like me, changed cam, and couldnt get a 14 back .
