How many kms on you EF/EL XR6

Hey guys,

Was just to see how many kms on your EF/EL XR6 and if its still going strong???

Would like to know

- How long you have owned it for
- What repairs have you done
- Been a good car

Mine is a EF XR6 1994 model with 139,000kms and have owned it for a month now and it seems to be a good car. Have fitted a IMPCO LPG kit and going to fit DBA slotted Rotors and Bendix Ultimate pads all round this week, then fit braided lines and flush brake system and fill it up with Penrite SIN brake fluid the following week.

Future plans are to fit some koni red shocks and king springs low or super low and get it professionally detailed. Might get some 19's but not sure as its a daily driver or if anything might get some FORD 17inch copies.

I'm guessing you'll include fairmont ghia's with the tickford/xr6 engine also??

I just bought a EF II fairmont ghia, 285,000kms, have owned it for 1 week and it seems to be a good car
Engine is strong, idles smooth, auto shifts nice and smooth still, LSD is still tight, compression test shows good...

Only problem was the heater hose, the short bit about 8" long under the BBM had a split in it... replaced that and now there are no leaks..

Mechanically, nothing wrong... I was expecting a heap of problems for $1400, but soo far nothing wrong

Is there any reason for EF/EL XR6 only? since the fairmont ghia's (ef series II and newer) have got the same drive train?

yeah i cant see the XR's being any more reliable or being different quality to the Gli's or Futura's
