Most powerful "road registered" car you have been in?!?

Postby cranners » September 25th, 2007, 2:42 pm

I was lucky enough to have a ride in a 500rwkw Monaro on Saturday afternoon, and ill give you the hot tip....i had to empty my pants once i got out of it! Skating at 140K's in 4th gear is def an experiance!

The brake setup on this machine is worth $18K and requires the car to have 19" rims so they will fit!

That is all.....

300rwkw BA-T. Stock brakes aren't cool with that much power.

One of the older sports wagon WRXs. I never respected them until that ride.

And I guess my brother's Carrera4, easily the quickest N/A car I've been and stops on a dime. Sounds like shit though :)

Big block Chevy Nova, i was young at the time but i was in the back seat of this thing and the bloke driving stomped it and the ass end was everywhere to some rediculious speed (even though it was tubbed and running massively fat tyres) and i was scared out of my mind.

More recently a VL turbo with the works

    Not sure on this one.

1: My dad's mate had a 454 HQ at one stage that did 12s (can't remember high mid or low though) and that felt pretty quick, but the guy was a wally driver so it was hard to tell - he never wound out through a gear, just stabbed it partway through etc.

=1: Then my ex's friends VT Clubby with 410rwhp, best of 12.6 down the quarter, but again, the guy can't drive too well so it was hard to tell really how 'quick' it is.

=1: Then a VZ clubsport with apparently 400rwhp but felt faster than the VT - maybe because I was driving haha. That thing wheelspun at ANY rpm in first (even if you let the clutch out at idle then stood on it) and was scrabbling for traction just when you stood on it in second. I saw the guy out at willowbank and he could only manage a low 13 in it though, which begs the question, WTF is with holden drivers having heaps of power and being crap at using it?!?!?!?

2: Mine :) I took the guy with the VT for a drive at powercruise and he reckons mine would beat his, but I don't know. I'll just have to get a decent clutch and throw it down the quarter :D

Aarons (Pyroay) 460rwkw EL XR6 Turbo. That thing was a fucking machine. I was crapping myself at first then he turns to me and says "It goes heaps better on high boost..." flick of the switch and wooooooo cheeks being pushed back.... All whilst listening to a 45,000 dollar sound system. Pure sex!

Either SLOWEA or my step-brothers 355 VP. It shattered a clutch changing up from 2nd, coasted, and still ran a high 15 second pass at Calder. I *think* it's got around 300rwkw N/A, revs to about 7000rpm and is very loud, so it felt a lot quicker than Dave's EA even though it was probably around the same.

Disappointing, I wish I'd been in more faster cars. I'm sure when T_Terror gets his Supra going I'll have a new fastest car I've been in ;)

We are racing each other to get our cars finished...and we're both at the same stage (in need of an ECU to run injectors). Only differences are 1) he's rich and going to pay someone to tune his... oh, and 2) he's starting with a 2JZ and wants at least 700rwhp instead of 450rwhp.

But you're right, it is good incentive ;)

i think my dads car is the fastest ive been in. its a 1970 xw gs with a 378 stroker clevo in it.
years a ago it ran 11.7 @ 124mph when it had about 360rwhp. it now has 430rwhp but hasn't been back to the drags.

next would be a vh como with a 360 stroker in it and power glide, witch my dad built for a customer. u could put your foot down at about 60kph and it was leave 2 strait lines for about 500m on the limiter in top gear. it had 398rwhp but it only weighted about 1300kg's.

    next would be my car

donno really....ashs ba felt like it had some real power down low, but it would have to be my bosses mates 300kw VS, was prity crazy thing, it hated traction, defornetly put me into the the back of the seat, and a blown zepher, that thing could move

It would have to be a VP SS for me. 355 stroker with no expence spared, had 600rwhp and stupid bloody IRS.
I was driving it on my own too so I got to get a real feel for it. Not that it would have mattered to this guy if he was there or not, in fact he probably would have told me to give it some more. It's good to have friends with more money than they need!

Next after that would have to be a series 6 rx7. Not sure how much power it had or how much money it owed the owner but it was really quick!
It was a regular customer's car when I worked at QuickFit Tyres so I got to drive it a few times.

Then there was the Masserati I drove, also while at QuickFit. That was the fastest standard car I driven by far.

R 30 Skyline Hatch. It looked like grandma was on her way home from the shops until it was floored. Had RB20 with upgrades (not sure exactly what, but included a bigger turbo)
Ran 0-100 in 5.005 and 13 somethin on the 1/4, had a single spinner diff so loved to bag one wheel at pretty much any speed.
The owner (a grad I used to work with at Ford) transplanted the go fast bits himself from a half cut
Even let me drive it too!

Would have to be a Saleen Mustang, owned by the guy who used to service my car. Blown 5.6 Stroker, never felt my cheeks get pushed so far back before. Had some insane amount of power.

Scariest car ever would have to be a mates' 9.9 sec 383ci Torana, scary because of the way its driven, in control but im not a good passenger

Most powerful would be Chris' HG with a 1200hp Shaffroff 598ci :o
