It has come time again to setup for our 4th annual E-series Glenmaggie camp! Pretty simple really, we go down to lake Glenmaggie, setup camp and drink, make bonfire's, head up to licola for some twisty road action, dirt drifting (pending level of lake) and just generally mucking around. A
s in previous years, we will meet up rooftop Dandy plaza carpark friday 10am (NOT THE MYER CARPARK), we then hang around for about half an hour for those that haven't arrived and for those who would like to do there supply shopping at the nearby coles or safeway (there will also be a 6:30pm premeet in the same location for those that haveto work late).
Once we depart, it will be a good 1.5-2hr straight drive down the Princes freeway until we hit Traralgon for break, were we can pickup some lunch/dinner and finish off any shopping that was left till last minute. From there, it will be another 45minutes to Lake Glenmaggie, were we will be setup up camp in caravan park site #1 in the tents section (you are welcome to bring caravans ofcourse). From here on it's just a case of kicking back and muckin round. We will be building a nice big bonfire and going for a run to Licola on Saturday during the day.

WHEN IS IT? 12th to 14th June

WHERE IS IT? Lake Glenmaggie caravan park site #1

WHAT WILL YOU NEED? Camping equipment ie tents, warm clothes, eskies, WARM sleeping bags etc. You are also welcome to bring a caravan. Food, BBQ, drinks etc.

HOW MUCH WILL IT COST? around the $10 mark per night (Steve can you confirm for this year?) and cash to donate towards firewood. (Around $10-$15 per person usually is right)
The lake is about 2.5hours from melbourne, so make sure you've got enough fuel (Licola is an addition 40minutes one way).

PREMEETS: We will be meeting at Dandenong plaza rooftop carpark (not the Myer carpark nextdoor) 10am for the early cruise and 6:30pm for those that work late. (If you guys want to change this time this year just say so )

OTHER DETAILS: We will be located at the far right side in the clearing beside the caravan park. Please note that there are permanent residents at this site so please keep all partying within reason. There is to be NO spirited driving on the camp grounds. If you feel inclined you can bring your boats, jetski's etc. There are toilet and shower facilities on the camp grounds. The town of Heyfield is about 15minutes up the road, so additional supplies ie food, grog and fuel can easily be replenished.

Feel free to bring friends/better halves along, but we prefer that the Kiddy's stay home

Steve How about we just agree that everyone chucks in a certain amount for fire wood >.
Saves the guessing work out of it .
I reckon go with what beth said. 15 dollars each.
So it ends up like 35 for the two nights.

Speed determines how fast you hit the Traffic Light....Power determines how far you take it with you.
Commando wrote:Yeah, you'll find non-ABS cars do feel different. Especially at 100kph on a wet road when a roo jumps out in front of you.

ABS = spongy brakes, but you'll slow to about 60

non-ABS = lock up at 100 & skid past the roo doing about 95. But you'll look sick doing it

the lake will most likely be half empty. i would say no good for speed boats and yes there should be enough dry lake bed to play around on.
we need to make sure this year we go a bit further from the camp tho.

When there is water in it, it's awesome for speedboats. I've done a lot of waterskiing at Glenmaggie. It would probably be too low though.

-30% muddy areas, -2% sandy areas, -15% areas with lots of stumps/deadwood = Approx 31.16% drifting space... Still a shit load though :)

If I'm coming it'll be with the late group. I'm shooting every friday arvo...

Water is now at 19.42%... The way we're going there won't be much left at all!

Oh and I forgot to mention I will of course be bringing my camera, so if anyone wants a couple of shots of their cars while we're up there...
