Brand new HDT VL Group A SS

Postby needfordspeed » September 26th, 2007, 11:35 am

I found this car a few days ago on eBay, I know it's not a Ford, but i'm sure most of you can appriciate a mint car. This example only has 39 kilometers on it, not 39,000, just 39! Has never been road registered.

Just take a look at the price it's at, it started at $100,000 now it's already at $150,000 and the reserve still hasn't been met.

That's pretty amazing. It's always cool seeing something like that in its original condition.

In saying that though, I wouldn't want it - even if it was a mint EA LOL! But seriously, I know it's a limited build and all but to me it's still a $40-50k Australian car. I can understand the desire in keeping something more unique like a truly limited-hand-built supercar because on the road it's really something else and parts/repairs are expensive and rare to come by. It's like putting a Sprint or something in a bubble - cool concept, but it's a cheap(ish) car to begin with. Why bother?

If I was rich, I'd buy it and as soon as I got it out on the street in front of the guys house just start a massive standstill until the rear tires burst. 20 year old tires would probably smoke up good.

I was saying the same thing to a guy here at work. I'd buy it then drive over it with a monster truck in front of the guys face! :)

Sif keep it garaged for 20 years, saddest part is the little red tent that he keeps it in.

The guy would probably charge you to take down the bubble. That VL is like a retarded child that has been locked up since birth. Someone buy it and thrash it like it deserves to be thrashed.

    Yeah thats actually sad.
Car's like that, and all the GTHOs sitting in garages, deserve to be driven.
The guys that own them can't even really love cars, its just an investment for them.

Was just checking out some VL's on eBay and saw these, it's just crazy I wonder if SVO's/Brock/AIT EA's etc will ever fetch even half the price these things are going for.

Why would someone pay over 100K for a 80's Falcon or Dunny door I will never know. Just seems rather gay!

There's a bloke who lives near my old girls workshop, who has one of every GT worth mentioning that Ford made (ie. XR XT XW XY XA XB). I've never been allowed in, but apparently it's legit according to my step-dad (who serviced them a while ago or something). Old kent never drives them either, they're all locked up in a shed appreciating in value... :(
