well then bit of an update sold the modenas and looking for something else but only in 17 or 18inch as im over the choppy ride the bigger wheels give.
it will be getting sl's to raise it up a bit soon as im sick of that also.
but on a more important note i have had the exhaust done twin 2.5inch to the back instead of into single 3inch it is alot queiter due to more mufflers which i like as its my daily and i have got a new airbox.
Image
but the most important part i finally decided to go for a good intake manifold for it and got this.
Image
which is odviously an edelbrock performer rpm2 and i am still only aiming for 220rwkw should make atleast aslong as my cam is dialed in properly which is a worry.
i also am getting a xtreme chrom moly 28oz imbalance flywheel next week and going for my retune then next monday so i will let u's no what she pulls.
cheers josh.

yeah im hoping it helps a fair bit it came up cheapish and its never been used so it was either snap it up or get my explorer manifold ported.
i also got my cam specs its a crow 1317 i am thinking of changing but have been told it wont be that much of a restriction so see what happens.
222 at 50 intake
217 at 50 exhaust
112 lobe seperation
.338 cam lift both i & e
thats the specs let me no whats u';s think.

yeah spools are alright for thrashing but i drive this thing every day and im not that much of a thrasher ill give it a bit here and there but not very often i do skids and stuff anyway.
but in saying that ill be looking at either a new lsd or a lokka soon.
can people give me oppinions on there lokkas and how they are to drive or if someone in vic has one and feels like taking me for a spin itd be greatly appreciated.

well small update was going to go for retune on monday due to rdo from work but my intake gaskets didnt rock up so cant fit my intake manifold now.
but i got my flywheel and must say i am a very happy man the thing revs so much smoother and doesnt vibrate the whole car.
if u were giving it to it before at about 44-4600rpm to 5500 (which is all i rev it to) it used to vibrate the gear stick that bad u couldnt touch it.
so im happy and feels like it pulls a bit harder aswell that could be that its not vibrating so feels better to rev tho.
cheers josh.

ahh well she finally cracked 200rwkw not as much as i hoped but the torque is pretty impressive.
Image
and heres a few pics of when i fitted the manifol up but i havent got any with the new piping/maf sensor.
Image
Image
Image
this pic sort of shows the intake to heads which if u look down there its pretty much identical like it has been match ported.
Image
this shows the custom oil cap. i had to pull the ratchet part off it as the manifold didnt like it sitting there.
it still bolts on but just doesnt ratchet u just have to tighten it like normal.
Image
and here it is with the standard piping.
Image
im pretty happy with it tuner said with heads and throttle body only itll pull easy 240rwkw but im over spending money on it for now.
maybe one day but i should start spending my money on my xw.
cheers josh.

Wow, you're maxing out the 70mm TB !

I hear stocko T3s can push upto 220 rwkw in stock form (auto) from flash tune only...you're not too far from that - impressive stuff mate :good:

What are you after for the 70mm TB if you don't mind me asking ?

id be after atleast $350 as they usually sell for $400.
i dont know if i am but chris said something to my brother about it ill ring him tomorow as it has a random miss i recon its maf or tps.
and yeah t3's will get good power but they have a good intake and an 83mm throttle body and better heads.
heads is whats holding it back they looked like theyd had some quality work done but i recon valves are still the stock 1.6intake and whatever the exhaust ones are i wouldnt mind trying some 1.9intake and 1.6exhaust valves i recon itd pull another atleast 10rwkw.
i dont no tho ill see what happens at heatcote tomorow night car feels very strong spins first easy by just foot flatting and spins alot of second now so feels strong.
should pull a decent time if my lsd holds in.
cheers josh.

Check the intake air temp sensor is fitted correctly and plugged in.

My housemate has a T3 and had a strange intermittent gentle missfire, he changed plugs, leads, coils, got the injectors cleaned etc, turns out the IAT sensor plug had come out of the sensor and was hanging in the breeze.

You'd think it would just run a tiny bit rich or maybe have slightly more timing than usual all the time, but nope, only thing was a intermittent missfire.

well had no luck first run was my only as clutch slipped every gear at first i thought it was single spinning but it didnt feel right then realised it was clutch slipping as it was still doing it in third gear and second.
it just held 5500rpm and sat there then i backed off and put it in 4th and rolled the throttle in but at about 3000rpm it just flang straight back up.
ahh well new clutch and it should be sweet.
i also spoke to the tuner and he said the miss is something to do with the maf sensor so i have to take it back but ill get a 75mm throttle body first as he recons it'll make a fair difference.

For some reason that car looks sick on the silver stockies - I've never liked the look before but that looks great!

Get the fronts widened to 8 or 8.5 and the rears pushed out to 10 and it would be perfect :)

Haha yeah id say the motors dead now due to a lack of brain power on yhe new.owners behalf.
i looked at buying it back this time last year but it was in a bad state and he wanted nearly the same money.
he "just had it serviced" and said the oil pressure gauge was playing up. i took it for a drive and gave it a squirt in second and oil pressure dropped to 0 and the thing was knocking its face off so i shut it off straight away and pulled up, nothing on the dipstick at all.
idled it bacl to his joint and he grabs some oil, it took 3.5litres to get normal level.

but pat the bulge was only showing slight crack marks so ur dad and u did a mad job mate so xr6tjet go see pat (discnt).
i do miss it but hopefully my track car project keeps me busy.
