brake light issues on ED

Postby fatnsticky » June 4th, 2009, 6:44 pm

hey all, couple of q's for the tech's, brake lights on ED stopped working, no power at pedal switch, but power at fuse box for stop light circuit, fair chance break in wire b/w fuse box and switch, but can't find any, cruise control fitted to car, no power at cruise either, near pedal box there is a white connector that has always plugged into brake switch, also there is a black connector in the same area, plugged that into brake light switch and brake lights work, but after lights on for 1 minute switch gets almost too hot to touch, a) is this normal, b) what is the black connector for, c) where is the fuse/relay for cruise control.
many thanks in advance :)

If it's getting hot then something is causing too much resistance in the circuit like corroded terminals in a connector somewhere or a short could cause that too.
