A late introduction

Postby rhys » June 3rd, 2009, 11:19 pm

Well i never posted in the section to begin with and now im selling the eb and moving on to the au i thought i may as well.

Here is the eb. Shes a tired old girl with 341,000 kms on the clock. The previous owner claims it had a complete engine rebuild at 260,000 kms and he is probably telling the truth as it runs rather smooth for its mileage. However it shit on LPG economy, runs 25L / 100 kms when in suburban driving and i attribute that to a well worn engine. its got quite a bit of end float on the crank shaft aswell. Did some very basic mods, hi-flow filter, extractors and 2.5" exhaust which didnt seemingly do much except sound better with slightly better response. Body is in reasonable condition with a few small dints and little scratches. Sadly one dint was earned in a shopping car park from a trolley and another from a fukin gutless van driver in boronia in front of kmart. Mum drove my car down when i was on my L's and while looking for a spot a van reversed into my car, hit above the right wheel arch then pissed off. Mum got their plates but the cops said there wasnt enough proof as they denied it and we had no witnesses. ANYWAY.... here is a pic.

Image

Introducing the new car. I know lots of guys here dont like Au's but i like their shape and this one's colour too.

Its a '99 4.0L falcon manual.

The gearbox is fvcked, so if anyone out there has an au t5 in good working order id love to hear from you. Otherwise im going a reco'd box and ive ordered one of those billet shifters through bomber and will attach that too.

Picked it up a few hours ago but i REALLY wanna fix the gearbox as i can only get 2nd gear 20% of the time, so i had to skip to third when bringing it home.

get S2/3 tail lights, S3 Side markers and S2/3 front or XR Front, then = winnah.

Wheels look good, i just hate the S1 Forte front, box that pod too, makes a huge difference

xr6 - i dont know i like those wheels but they can rub against the guard. i would consider swaps for 17's but they are bald aswell.

67rce - I hate the xr front because of the lights, but yer the stock one isnt much better. i was thinking te50 bodykit down the line anyway i think they look great.

Im in the process of getting a few small things for the rwc and a lid thats been modified to fit an airbox is on the list. the last guy had the set-up like that.

i like it the way it is as well, one thing ill defiantly change is the front grill, i hate it. probably go for something like this...

Image

and this is the body kit i was contemplating, about a year down the track i think. no stripes though, just same as body colour.

If you are going to put the rear bar on you need the rear wing the kit looks shit without it. There is a guy infrankston with that kit and no rear wing and it looks like shit. That kit is pretty sweet though do it.

yer i actually prefer it to the ba's now. i was originally looking at a ba xt but due to budget restrictions i looked else where. started looking at au's and the more i saw the more i liked their shape, although i think they require a rear wing to square up the back a bit.

Having said that BA/BF GT FTW!!! :good:

i dont mind the xr's, i was considering one of those as well. The individual lights really threw me off though. prefer an aftermarket kit to an xr one
