kickdown not responsive at all

kickdown not responsive at all

for a while now the kickdown doesn't seem to be responsive...when i put the foot down sometimes it takes 1-2 seconds till the car actually bloody goes.
becoming a real pain now, and could get me into trouble one day.
any ideas guys? thanks

shift kit would speed up the shift.

might some oil as well.

Eco / Power button put it on power.

check your accelerator cable for wear.

nah the shift kit has nothing to do with it, thats made a huge difference to the car... but im thinking the throttle cable or kickdown solenoid is fkd

It's probably the throttle cable.. From memory I think wear out where they run across the top of the rocker cover. Piss easy to replace..

Repco or Bursons will have them.

Last time I replaced one on a EA was about 8 or 9 years ago so the price will probably be different, but I think it was around $50-60

Well it may be either related to the Accel cable or neutral safty switch related.

i had the same problem with my ed and changed the accelerator cable and it made a huge improvement
they cost about $60 or maybe a bit more
