im new, EB2 ghia with 200kw AU te50 motor

hey guys, im brenton, but everyone knows me as cheetr, have always been a holden man, but like my fords as well.

had one of my commodores featured in street machine about a year and a bit ago, currently rebuilding that so have bought a eb ghia for a daily.

its running a unichip, te50 200kw motor, has sunroof and leather ec.. and brand new paint job (and has lpg which is the reason i bought it).

spent about 2k on it this week getting it on the road, but all done now.
new balljoints,shocks,leads,plugs,pads,machinedrotors,unijoint,control arms,lights, wiper arms,tyres,exhaust mounts,elec window regs ec.. common problems.

from what i can gather, its running the original eb dizzy gear but still using the au block and top end/injectors/manifold ec..

hopefully this site can help me sort out all the problems with it, so thought id intro myself.

sure is.

and i have found the reason to that.
ive just replaced about 2k worth of gear in it, and booked it in for a dyno tune tuesday with mark at dynomotive bayswater.

all the owners have bought it and let it go and never put money back into the car, hence wheni bought it it seemed fine untill i got it on the hoist.

its had everything replaced now, and is running brand new, handles fantasic.


this is what i ahve had to do since i bought the car one week ago

-new drivers window reg
-new radiator bottle
-new hoses
-new dizzy cap
-new leads
-new plugs
-oil change
-coolant change and radiator flush
-fix abs light
-new front and rear pads
-machine all 4 discs
-overhaul the rear calipers
-(the control arms had been put on opposite sides wrong) so swapped those back
-pinion seal in the diff
-new uni joint
-new headlights
-new number plate lights
- new wiper arms
-new tyres and rim dust caps
-weld the exhaust housing back on



this is all the stuff in one week, so the car has been brough tback to its former glory, putting a set of 19inch dark agents on this week as well.

yer ive got some old pics of it from previous owners, but i'll get some better pics up this week once i've had it detailed.


it had a brand new respray 12months ago, but was never cut and polished for some stupid reason.

so im clay baring the paint back and wet and dry sanding it to bring through the really nice gloss, its actually not a bad paint job just needed a good clay bar.

As for the Commodore, apart from the rims & chrome handles, I love it! Nice mix of custom touches to the exterior, and I LOVE that interior.

with the ammount of money i have poored into this thing i really wana wait till the paint is blocked back befor ei take pics so it looks all nice and new again.

my detailer is blocking it back and wet sanding on monday, and a dynomotive is sorting out one last hiccup with the tune and it will be finished thursday, so il pics up next thhursday.

well had it on the dyno today, sorted out most of the teething issues.

made132.3rwkw running a 65mm throttle and maf

so next is a bigger throttle body and 70mm au maf.
also needs the ignition coil replaced which ill do next week.

the gas system needs an upgrade so im spending another 1200 next week for a new mixer and converter.

but i spose 132.3 is not bad considering its running the stock throttle body and a stuffed stocker maf on it as well as the ignition coil not being all that crash hot.

TB is fine, the MAF, if it's the stock E-Series one, is only 55mm.

ahh ok thanks mate, yer its the stock one , so 55mm gee thats small, any wonder it struggled lol will be doing the maf next week and coil pack adn then will be retuned, he thinks it will make around the 150 mark was hard to tune it with a standard eb maf
