Im New To This Site,Still A 100% On How To Use It So I Hope Im Doing It Right!

This Is My Black EB XR6,I Brought It For $2000 About A Year Ago And It Was Pritty Trashed Back.

Engine Mods:

Mild Cam.
Abit Of Head Work.
Thermo Fans.
Bored 10 Thou.
Blueprinted.
2.5 Exhaust,Extracors.
Heavy Duty Clutch.
Mini Spool 3.7 Gears.
Rip Shifter.

EB/EL GT Wheels,Im Not To Sure What Ones They Are Lol.

When I Brought It The Guy Told Me It Had 132Rwkw And Ran 14.2 Up The 1/4 Mile (Befor It Had The Shit Flogged Out Of It)
The Bottom End Is F%cked,Everytime I Put My Foot Down It Blow ALOT Of Black Smoke,I Want To Spend Around The $5000 Mark On The Motor But I Dont Realy No Where I Can Take It Or Who Knows Alot About These Engines..I've Been Looking At A Jim Mock Dev 4 Motor..Thats $5200 Fitted And Tuned With 160Rwkw But Im Thinking I Could Get More Power Then That With The Money,But Still Im Not 100% Sure,So If Anyone Could Help Me Out With That It Would Be Great Because I Need This Motor Done ASAP.

they have kits you can buy off them and pretty much bolt straight on.

Well the best person to speak to regarding snort kits on here would be V8capri(paul) he is Cve performance and could definatly tell you the way to go. He has modified most of the e series turbo motors on here as well as my 175kw na motor
Definatly easier to get more power with less money then what a dev kit is worth.

Where in melb or vic are you from.

love the clean black car mate, but is it just me or is there no 'T' stamped on the front of the head, its a little bit dark and unclear. Stomper burnout aswell

i realy dont like the boot lip unless there dumped,and mine isnt realy sitting that low.

i've been looking for the xr front but i cant seem too find anywhere,it had one on it but wen i got the car the front was all smashed up

Hi mate welcome aboard nice EB u got there gotta love the black e-series.... as for getting a genuine xr front good luck i tried for ages to get one for my xr. They were either to shitty or to pricey so i gave up & went the after market ones like ur's.......

yeah. the head u have on there is a 94 ab wich is an ef head, they make more power than the tickford heads and are better when fully modified. the black smoke means ur map sensor is fucked not that the engine is fucked and the nock that is there sometimes will most deff be the lifters as they are prone to this. any way good luck and i am a new member to so congrats and nice car :thumbsup:

hahahaha! I had to go to Morwell to buy my XR8! The guy who I got it off lives in Churchill, but he met me in Morwell cos I had to take a V-Line out there! What a ball breaker of a trip that was! I don't know how you do it!

Actually, looking at your pics Ev, I know where the previous owner's house is. Looks like Glendonald Road area (Glendonald Estate = aboriginal/housing commission area, yet Glendonald Rd to the south of the estate is a pretty mint area).

Imagine almost doubling the time it took you. That's me V/Lining it from Sale to Melbourne (which I've done a couple of times).

cini, there's a few E-Series people from the Valley area. We're planning a camp at Lake Glenmaggie in June if you're interested (viewtopic.php?f=2&t=8854), and there's usually an annual 1/8 mile day (not an E-Series event, but I've been in the past) on the Queen's Birthday weekend out at Bairnsdale. I'm looking at taking my EB out there for a thrash if you want to meet up with me there mate. It's still a while away...

yehh that sounds great,i will probley only come if i get my motor all rebuilt by then,since i hate driving with all the smoke that comes out the back.

Mate check your map sensor hose as a few people have commented. It's mounted on the right hand side of your engine bay and connects to your log manifold. It's a small black little box with a hose coming out the bottom. You'll find it.,

theres some newer photos since them other ones are pritty old.
with in the next few weeks bit of luck it will hav EL mirrors EL door handles and an AU console..then the motor will be in a month or so,depending on how quick i can book it in and get it back.
after that just drive the dam thing... :grin:

If anyone is interested Ive bought a set of these lights from http://www.twinlight.com.au/ before and they really look great. The EF-AU ones all look pretty dodgey, but they do a great looking set for the EA-ED and the XF-XG. I'm guessing someone round here would have seen them before.
