a clapper starter is a starter motor on mainly clevland v8's that have an externaly mounted solenoid not attached to the starter as most are, mostly found in xw - xy and f series totally different than what is found in a 5ltr windsor infact i think in a 5ltr windsor there even located on the opposite side of the bell housing?
why do you ask?
