Who is your ISP ?

Postby Damo » September 27th, 2007, 9:25 pm

Moving to a new house in like 8 days now, sick to death of Telstra Bigpondofshit.

I want unlimited downloads/uploads, no capping, no shaping, no small dodgy companies who haven't been around for long etc etc.. So yeah who's porn pipe are you connected to and how much etc.

Cheers.

I was on AANET adsl. It wasn't that fast (512 i think) but it was unlimited in downloads and was cheap as chips.
Now got optus cable (even though I don't work for the kents anymore) and can't complain. We've got 3 computers running from it in our house, and it's still quick enough and we're probably gonna hit our 20G limit with a day to go every month... and we're all pretty heavy on the downloads too.

Hi 5 for your avatar damo
Im with internode. 30gb plan i think it is. ( i barely use the home account for anything but xbox360). Costs about $40 a month and i have never had problems with it. (Used to be on netspace but churned to internode a few years ago as netspace is shit)

We've got a NextG card on a $55/20hour plan at 1500 speed. It's expensive, but it's in a laptop and we disconnect when pages are loaded if we're not looking for something (or on here).

When I'm not using that I'm on my phone on 3. Customer service licks my skro hair, but I'm on a $29/100mb cap with a $5 minimum spend, of which I normally spend about the 5 bucks. Reason for this being I use Opera Mini and don't load images meaning the average page is about 7kB. (Go to mini.opera.com on your mobile - the high memory version is around 92kB IIRC)

Australian Government pays for My Internet.

Some sorta Telstra ADSL 2+ Wholesale deal. I suppose I do all the IT support for the Army Bases around my area.

chariot.net.au
40gb ADSL $69.99

they are prity good, its fast but my downloads are always low speeds, average download speed is below 50kbs when downloading torrents, and same downloading files and games of firefox, speedtest.net says im averaging 1300kbs which is a crock, kents. ADSL2 ftw

I'm with Bigpond Wireless Broadband. Got one of those mobile express cards in my laptop.

I wouldn't recommend it just yet. I'm paying $84.95 per month for only 1 gig download.

If I asked for shit expensive plans then you probably would have been on the money. $85 a month for 1 gig lol. I don't even really pay for the internet, I just use it and download torrents and shit.

Probably going to be forced to stick with Telstra at the new place, soo gay, but i will make 100% sure there is no limit or shaping of any kind. It's fast again here now, so gotta make sure it stays fast all the time.

Have what ? I don't have Bigpond wireless.

They don't have cable in the area i'm moving to, so going to go with bigpond adls1, cause the phones already connected and shit. Ahh well, I'll just download less I guess. :(
