I'm going to suss out the engine next week and find out what sort of condition its in.

Are there any posts on this kind of swap? if not here's a couple questions?

I was wondering what will hafto come out of the doner car? or should it all mate up easily?
will it effect my cruze control? can i swap radiators? Is there anything else worth swapping out?

feel free to answer more than i have questioned...

Actually, facing the subs the other way doesn't necessarily increase bass response :D. It may create more of a "buzz" style of bass. By facing it into the seats, the seats do absorb some of the bass, but since they are anchored to the body, the car body will act like a resonating chamber. You get really close to the same amount of bass in the boot having them facing the seats, because the sound waves hit the back of the seat, bounce back and have nowhere to go but to bounce around the metal body. Backpressure from the speakers also throws sound backwards.

ok so its been about a year since i posted here for my first and what felt like my last until now that is.

my reason for posting is mainly to vent my frustration and also get some help.
So today I wake up extra early due to an elbow to the ribs and an angelic voice telling me I'm sleeping in the bed the wrong way.
I get up mope around a bit and then go for a drive to pick up a thermostat housing and thermo fan wiring kit, i thaught may as well hit two birds with one stone.
ended up coming home with 3 new nintendo DS games and a DS as well
Anyways get home mope around a bit more and then thaught i had better get into it as if i didnt it just wasn't going to happen.
Started of realy well got the new bonnet struts on in a few minutes and started loosening hose clamps then BAM rain, it pissed down and flooded the drive way.
I didnt let it get to me i had a quick smoko and the rain stoped and the sun came out, so i got the bottom hose of and let the dam(brown) water out of the radiator.
Then took the thermostat housing of well almost. the piping that goes to the heater i assume decided it didnt want to come out of its hole so i gave up on that and just tried to get it of the hoses near the dizzy. Eventualy i got the hose clamps loose with massive frustration, puled on it to get it of and the little pipe coming of the main pipe des-integrated of it, INSTANT RAGE :banghead: then i thaught no quick to Repco they will save this. No they tell me the only way im going to get it is if i order from ford or try and find a half decent one at a wreckers. Also after seeing the shit that came out of my radiator and block i think my engine might be rusting from the inside out, would a radiator flush chemical fix this?
then i cried on the inside :cray:
Thermostat housing and Thermostat

And on a brighter note, i got rid of the subs well out of the car they are siting by the front door. I put 6x9's in they are now anoying me so if anyone want to swap them for 6" i would very happy. reason i dont like then is they are to in your face, i like the standard look.

and any ideas on what to do to the end of my tail pipe? and the broken part?
also im located in kurri near newcastle so if there is any locals about that could help with there local knowledge that would be awsome.

yeah I think that might explain why my thermostat hasn't been working :D oh and the gasket that sits in between the two halves of the thermostat housing was non-existent.
I'm still going to go ahead with the thermo fans tomoz though so then i only have to hopefully :beg: worry about that one section of piping.
