*shameless plug* if it's the heater core, I've got a spare I'm selling (check my FS thread)

if its got a new thermastat id say heater tap or the heater core needs flushing,my heater useto not blow out hot air because it was full of sludge so i disconected the inlet and outlet heater hoses and flushed all this thick brown bloby crap out of my heater core till the water was coming out clean then hooked it all back up and its so nice and warm :D

Check if the vacuum hose is connected to the heater tap.

Could have just slipped out or the tap is buggered.

Thermostat doesn't have anything to do with it other then taking a long time for the water to get hot. The heater core will have water circulating through it with the thermostat closed if the heater tap is open.

Check that the tap opens when you select hot air. If it doesn't push it open and hold your finger over the hole for the vac hose. If it stays open your not getting vacuume there if not then it's broken

the heat taps get all rusty n shit, so its pretty common for them to die.
the heater cores get full of shit also.
i have a straight piece of pipe where the heater tap goes and i still dont get a warm heater lol
pretty sure my cores fucked, but its a huge mission pulling the heater box out :(

sweet as did some more researching

now i under stand how it works, blend door motor and flap are different from heater core

not going to do it today, cant get a new heater core. going to wait and replace the whole lot in one go, heater core and blend door and motor.

ill do it when i get new carpet and also change the carpet and finish stereo wiring.

yeah its best to combine with another big interior job, its such a **** to do just the heater core alone after all that work lol

MAJOR update,

heater works

i just finished installing my temp controler for thermo fans, been running them off ignition for past few weeks (i know its bad but it worked for temp)

but anyway i set the temp so it gets up around the n/o on normal and tried to get the heater code and it blew hot air, i beleive with the thermo fans being on all the time not enough heat was getting through to the heater core.

the temp gauge never moved from the blue bar when i had the thermos on full time, so there is another possible solution for no heater

blen door motor seems to work fine!
