http://boostedfalcon.net/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=4908 , explains how to change the globes in your instrumentation, pretty straight forward and will save you a bit of coin getting someone else to do it, good luck mate :good:

GDay BenJ thanks for posting :D,

Car is still on the road, really loving this dash conversion so far, its like driving an NL. I replaced all of the cooling system about a week ago so the cooling should keep me out of trouble for the next few months.
Image

One mod that I did to this car which I am glad worked out flawlessly was the Speed Sensitive Steering, I bought the EL Ghia ECU off TROYMAN in hope that the NL Steering rack and looms that I installed worked, once I fitted up the computer I was dreading if it would work or not, I knew the mod was a success when i could steer the wheel with one finger, with 18" Rims on the front :P.

Image
Image
With the tool I got of Krytox i was able to make the cluster show the car's legitimate km's
Image

And one my mate Joel took with the wheels on and clean :D

If their is anything in specific you want pictures of let me know.

Thanks mate :good: , I will agree on the seats, I hate it when things dont match but it was the only way I could get electric seats. I plan on getting them retrimmed but I havn't get found any good retrimmers yet, or im not looking hard enough. First thing I need to do prior is get EL rear seats for the right foam pattern etc etc :P

Am very interested in the tool you used to set the Kays to the correct amount.

I find it very satisfying to see others complete mods like mine. Well Done!!!

I like the wheels you have too.

With the seats, you can probably use other EF/EL seats on your electric bases.

Cheers

Best person to speak to about it is Krytox off fordmods, this is a rough explanation of how he made it from the top of my head.

Basically he made up a signal generator from parts you buy at Jaycar, with an AC and A DC i think power source, you wire up the cluster power and the generator pwer, and the speedo signal wire to the generator(Chop some looms out of an NF/NL or EF/EL depending on the cluster, it basically makes the cluster think it is driving. The cluster I got was out of a DL LTD( i was told) with about 148,000 on the clock, with the generator I had it sitting for 3 weeks set at 220k/ph until it finally reached 268,000, turn it off and plug it in like nothing ever happened.

couldnt get it up to more than 230k/ph, otherwise the cluster goes stupid and puts it back to 0. Luckily I had a well ventilated room so it didnt mind being run for 3 weeks straight :P.

Yeh I don,t blame ya Ben, at the time it didnt matter because my car was off the road :P

Nice wheels - it's rare to see something decent on an E-Series+. Good looking ED mate.

Besides the seats, the only thing that irks me is the misaligned side mould on the front driver's side.

I like them, I think they give the car a bit of definition, plus its a way to cover up some of the paint damage from the old 4.0 Overhead cam badges (Shh :P).

Ah yeh cool, where abouts?, well ever since my wheel came off the bar has never been quite right, I had the car parked in a shopping center in Heidelberg when I was in there getting a few things, returned with my bar half fallen on the ground, looked like someone hit it while i was in the shops, so I had to take it off completely :( . I plan on working on a way to fix it during the week
