i dont want 18's...

i have 20z atm, im looking for something a bit smaller as the car is a daily.

ill leave 20z on the weekender, but the 20z are taking their toll on the eb, cant find any simmons so im thinking other avenues.

has to be 3piece or some form of tuff ford wheel... dont want anything generic like bloody gtp rims and typhoon rims and crap they look shit.

They do look fairly clean, but that's an awful lot of money for them.

I had some 17" EL GTs in silver, and they looked quite good, and a little different.

AJR Directors look great on EA-ED IMO if you're after a cheaper alternative to Simmons.

what kind of AJR's?

AJR's come in 3 different styles.

Directors/Signitures/Finns

Most common is Signitures, then Directors, then Finns.

They were available in 16-18" and being 3 piece can be any width.

however.. generally they're 17x8

They're signatures.

They're not very common in 16's

A friend looked at a set of 16" signatures a month or two ago for a similar price, and they had fine cracks on two rims. As quoted by the wheel place he got a repair quote from, "AJR's are a shit wheel". Apparently the outer rims are soft as butter and the centres are brittle and prone to cracking (which I'd agree with, having bent two outers and cracked one centre). They look great though, and being 3 piece, shit is fixable.

Check them for cracks closely ;)

agreed.
I've got 2 AJR's with bent outers.
i've got 1 AJR with a cracked inner
and 1 AJR with a badly cracked centre.

saying that, most copped big hits.

IMO 20s are too big for e-series. I see this whole "bigger is better" philosophy as someone who's compensating for something else ;)

I must admit I paid about a grand for my SVOs over 2 years ago, and I know I paid way too much. They are a great looking wheel, and I reckon the 16's suit my car perfectly.

well thanks for the heads up boyz.

went to look at them, all the way over to fucking thomastown and 2 rims had hair line fractures in them.

going to leave the 20z on now, and wait for some decent simmons to come up either 16inch V5's with heaps of dish or some fr's 17's,18's or 19's.. depends what comes up...

i have been right through all the wreckers, all over trading post, ford mods, ford forums, ebay... nothing that really stands out, not even a decent set of 17inch ajr's.

i'll wait out for something decent though.
