i do 99% of the work on my car..
the last thing that was done by a "mechanic workshop" was a ems install and tune..
which i had to re do because he decided to leave a few sensors disconected..
ed 4.0l turbo, 267rwkw on 12psi.. 12.5@113mph tuned by V@E RIGOLI
au 3 xr8 supercharged, unknown kw, unknown 1/4 mile at this time

We do most things ourelves except trans repairs and ECU tuning...
The thing that changes E series mods is the turbo B/A is cheap enough now for an 18 year old to buy..
The E series are getting so cheap its hardly worth spending the $7k on a $2k car..Besides the younger brigade
would possibly think the E series is old tech...Poppies old car etc...
Plus the fact people think these cars are hard on fuel and get talked into buying a smaller car..
Off susbject but a NEW Korean car can be a better buy than a 15 or so year old high milage one and have 5 years warrenty..

i do the majority of the work on my cars here.. allways have done.
the only time i have to get someone else to do it is when i have to get the lpg tuned, tyres, or rwc's... everything else i do myself.

Look at your car. Now back to mine. Now back to yours. Now back to mine. Sadly, yours isn't mine. But if you stopped buying dodgy cars and bought an ED, yours could be like mine. Look down. Back up. Where are you? ...You're on BoostedFalcon, reading the signature your signature could be like! Anything is possible when your car looks like my car... I'm on a computer.

I've had stereos fitted for me because i suck with electronics. and i had an exhaust fitted once too mainly out of lazyness though :banghead: but apart from that diff changes gearbox swaps engine swaps. diff centre swaps, suspension changes all done by me and my mates. its relatively simple unbolt it throw old bit at your neighbours cat then bolt new bit in, and if you rmemory is poor or something is fiddly then use a video camera to film it as your pulling it apart so that if you cant remember how something goes then you have a referance.

Two reasons.

1. Slack or CBF
2. Shit canned if it goes wrong.

Personally I still enjoy working on cars whether it be my own or someone elses.

Haha

I got my EA and acquired heaps of tools, generally buying the best tools I could afford whenever I needed them under the assumption that I'd need them again.

Then when it broke and I sold it, I didn't use the tools for ages.

The MX-5 shat an air-compressor and suddenly I realised how much I actually enjoyed working on cars.

So the opposite of some of the others here, I went out and bought my EB so I'd have something to use all my tools on. How backwards am I?

Worst part is, for a car that I brought so it would break, it doesn't **** up. So I've had to spend money changing shit just so I can use my tools on it anyway.
