Postby jake87 » September 25th, 2009, 4:35 pm

hey guys i have a turbo ef and i have recently got a scremer pipe made for my external wastegate but is not screming and cant figure out why all vaccume lines are on in correct position only other thing i can think of is the gate is not opening but boost gauge is reading at least 5psi but i think the gate has a 9psi spring in it so i have been told

problem 2 i have water goin missing i will have to fill it up atleast once a week but oil is not milky so thinkin its not a head gasket

as far as i understand it, the wastegate opens when desired boost level is acheived (well before that to start letting gas out earlier so it doesnt fly past desired boost level)
so if you arent hitting spring pressure the screamer pipe wont be screaming... you have to hit max boost or close to it for the wastegate to open.....

get a pressure tester on both the overflow bottle and the cap to find the leak.....
