My first Car

Postby EFDOFF » September 27th, 2009, 5:45 pm

hey guys, for my first car, without a doubt was going to be a ford i wanted a reliable and good looking one aswell. i like the ed but i was feeling for more of a smoother ride.
so i decided on the EF series. at first i was gonna settle for anything, from base falcon to faimont but then realised that if you put the effort in then u can get whatever u want for a reasonal price. i set my eyes on the fairmont, due to the grill on the front and tailights being nice and basic and not containing the orange indicator colour. i went and had a look at many fairmonts all over victoria and found one close to home with not too many k's and good looking aswell. from day 1 of getting it i have been replacing and upgrading small things on the car. to the untrained eye you probably wouldnt notice anything besides the rims and a little bit lowered. full exhaust system. i have blue led's in the dash, got jl 6 by 9's on the back and a soon to be replaced JVC head unit (peice of shit). i have tinted the door indicators black but wont show in the photos due to being old. tell me what u think :).

ill past some more recent photos when the sun comes out :)

thanx guys, yer not too sure on engine mods yet, just want to get my sound upgraded. which is gonna cost a bit. and then i will get some window tint, chuck a python alarm in and if i can afford it BF GT40's. then i rekon the car will be done looks wise. i think i might leave engine mods to when im a bit older considering cops following me alll the time! if i had a choice id chuck a tickford xr8 engine in.

does anyone know where u can get fpv replicas? like website wise.

You can throw a cam and chip in and the cops wont have a clue. Will cost around $350 for both, plus installation of the cam (if you cant DIY).
Very very worthwhile mods....

A regrind from Wade is like $150 after post, plus shims (anywhere from 0 to $50 odd), chip is a bit over $100.. installation depends on who you go to... but its pretty simple to diy.

Sounds like you got it all mapped out. P plates suck for getting cop attention. Especially with red plates and all the restrictions. Good luck with it :)

you should defiantly get a cam and if you are worried about the police then get some clear repeaters and remove the tinted ones.
very nice car.

im surprised i havent been picked on by cops my car basically drags arse on the road rumbles like it aint got an exhaust and leaves rubber everywhere and still no cop attention, except once i went down the wrong street in first gear and turned out a cop lived in the street and i knew someone and they asked them and they searched my name on data base and came knocking on my door next day... but didnt defect thang god cause i had balled tyres on the back

is tinted repeaters illegal? cause i tinited them to a nice black but because the orange is still in the inside they still indicate orange. i guess i could use it as an excuse to the cops due to them still flashing orange. there wouldnt be anything worng if they still flash orange easily noticed flash even in day time?

but then again prob just due to how much the cop wants u off the road. or out of money
