electrical problem i think

Postby GildedVenom » October 3rd, 2009, 11:20 pm

need some help i'm stuck on ideas,i recently painted my engine bay now after i put it back together it wont start doesn't even crank over, when you turn ignition on you hear the fuel pump...when you turn the key round circle with line in the middle comes on the dash, also smart lock light flashes 6 times 3 seperate times then stays on......i tried to bridge the starter motor and all it does is crank but no fire it has spark when cracking, could the smartlock be cutting the ecu off

the smartlock will cut off the ecu if something is wrong. try replacing the smart lock relay. its the green relay under the radiator overflow tank.

cheers corey

Before replacing relays and shit, turn the key to on for 1/2hr to 45min then try cranking it.

repair manuals will have fault codes, according to my ed 6 flashes shows starter circuit fault...

replacing relays wont help if the bcm is showing fault codes.

and green relay is fuel pump, smartlock doesnt have a relay

im not sure how to reset codes off the top of my head
