Whats this?

Postby Dansedgli » October 16th, 2009, 9:06 pm

Sorry for the shit photo. Iphones in the dark ftl.

It says Maxitrax on it. Google has nfi. Its mounted behind the drivers seat of my AU. There is flashy LED's on it. 2 serial cable plugs. 1 network cable plug and a whole bunch of wires coming out of it. The car is an ex Swan Hill Shire council car.

Any ideas?

GPS sounds like a winner
GPS matrix in google brings up a few car related bits and pieces

any model numbers or more details on the sticker?

if you had access to the readouts it would be interesting...

one of the trucks i load at work always gets the most pings for speeding, he does the toowoomba run and breaks the speed limit on average 80 times a day

and if you saw the truck you would wonder how, its the most busted ass piece of cr4p ever...

but yeah, they can tell everything, right down to what gear your in, revs (ie idle time) etc etc

The chip in the back of your neck has been activated by TUFED6 , the power of suggestion by TUFED6 made you buy the AU and therefore receive your complete GPS tracking module so at any time the aliens that have been watching you, thanks yet again to TUFED6, (who may be an alien), can follow your build thread from the comfort of their far far away land without burning up excessive GB's on their current net plan....

lol schmee.

Yeah it was a courier car before me. It made trips from Swan Hill to Melbourne a lot apparently.

I wonder if just removing the box and stuffing the wiring back into behind the side panels will cause any dramas.

Yeah they sound like they would be expensive but I cant find any on ebay or anywhere else with a price tag. I dunno how much shit I would have to remove to make it sellable either.

Dunno what they're worth for just the unit new, but we pay $100 per month per unit on a 3 year term which covers the unit, and the service.

Unfortunately they aren't really worth anything. A mate of mine just got like 6 similar units they pulled out of trucks at his work, freight company. He is trying to figure out how to use the GPS readings and output them to Google maps for sat nav. So far is unsuccessful, but I'll let you know if anything comes of it. Thats about the only useful thing we can think of for them.
